Talk - Gratitude For My Hands

Hello beloveds,

This is a prayer to my hands; for everything they have experienced in the 40 years I have been alive.

Isn't it incredible to think of all the people they have lovingly touched? All the delicious foods they have placed into your mouth and body? All the times they have helped you to express yourself when communicating?

Hands, I thank you, for all that you do.

With love and reverence always.

Hello Beloveds So, I just wanted to share with you today a piece that's been moving through me regarding my hands these hands on the end of my arms and the profound intense experience that I had recently of gratitude of reverence for these hands I am 42 years old or young and these hands have touched so much in these 42 years I think of all the hands that I have held in my life and all of the different flavors of that hand holding all of the different situations that those hand holdings have occurred in and the different emotions that swelled within my heart during all of those moments I like to eat food with my hands as much as I can and I think of all the different nourishment that these hands have touched all of the different foods in all of the different places that I have been around the world the different heads that I have stroked comforted the faces that I have held in the palms of my hands the hearts I have placed these hands upon including my own I communicate with my hands I communicate in a very embodied way so I think about all of the times that these hands have helped me to communicate my internal world to another the expressions I've unfilled from these hands and when I dance which I do often how these hands glide and float and spiral how they touch the earth dirt under my nails smell of our mother on my skin all of the places these hands have enabled me to enter and to leave opening and closing and opening and closing some more how they have tenderly held the petals of a flower and stroked its silky softness how these hands have enabled me to swim in the ocean to splash and play how they've saved my life or prevented me from injury when I've been hiking in different places on this planet I've needed to hold on and also how many times they have let go of things that no longer serve me how they've wiped tears away from the cheeks of people I love and from my own how they've held my hand how they've clapped together in celebration and how they've curled into a fist and fist pumped the air in glee how many books they've held in their palms so many books so many pages of divine creativity held within these hands and how now they hold this microphone to my mouth whilst the other spirals in the air these beautiful hands that have felt so much that have done so much what a blessing that I have hands and now like many times before I clasp them together in prayer in reverence to us the divinity that is us and I bow and I bow and I bow to the magic and the mystery of it all
