Welcome to my heart.

This is my reading of a piece I wrote called When I Sit Here. This piece talks to the beauty of simplicity and the peace and ease I feel when I just allow myself to be.

I write poetry to make sense of how I feel, or what I experience, as I make my way through this life.

What my poetry means to me may be very different from what it means to you. Such is the beauty of art.

When I sit here and listen to the birds.

When I sit here and watch the leaves of the trees swaying in the breeze.

When I sit here hearing the waves crashing onto the shore.

When I sit here and watch the stars twinkling in the night sky.

When I sit here staring in awe at the moon.

When I sit here and feel the breeze caress my skin.

When I sit here and feel the sun warm upon my face.

When I sit here in silence with you.

When I sit here and smell the sweet fragrance of the damp earth.

When I sit here and feel the rain dance upon my skin.

When I sit here and smell the sweet fragrance of flowers in bloom.

When I sit here and hear the sweet sound of children laughing.

When I sit here all is well.

When I sit here I am at peace.
