Hello dear ones and welcome to today's meditation for the busy brilliant ADHD mind.
So just making yourself comfortable before we start.
Find a position that feels easy for you.
It doesn't have to be meditation perfect.
You don't need to sit completely still.
You don't need to do this right.
If your body wants to shift,
To stretch,
To fidget,
Let it.
Your comfort matters more than stillness.
Taking a slow breath in and gently letting it out.
And just bringing awareness to your breath.
No need to force it.
Just notice the breath as it is for you right now.
Now instead of trying to clear your mind,
Let's try something different.
Imagine your thoughts are like fireflies.
At dusk they flicker in.
Bright,
Quick,
Unpredictable.
And instead of chasing them away,
Just watch them glow.
One thought appears.
You notice it.
Another one follows.
And you just notice that too.
There is nothing to fix.
Nothing to organize.
Nothing to complete.
You are just watching.
Watching your fireflies.
If your mind jumps,
That's okay.
If it races,
That's okay.
And if you forget you are even meditating.
For a moment.
And then suddenly remember.
That is okay too.
This is the meditation.
To observe your fireflies.
Now bringing your attention to your body.
Not all of your body.
Just one small anchor.
Maybe your hands.
Maybe your feet.
Maybe the feeling of your clothes against your skin.
And just let your attention rest there.
And when it wanders,
Which it will,
Softly guide it back.
Gently.
Like you would guide a child.
No frustration.
No self-judgment.
Just return to the body.
Take another slow breath in.
Turning your attention to the body.
When the mind wanders.
Just resting here.
No judgment.
Now for a moment,
Allow yourself to feel this truth.
Your mind is not broken.
It is fast,
Alive,
Creative.
A sky full of fireflies.
You are not here to silence it.
You are here to sit beside it.
To witness.
To allow.
And to breathe with it.
And just stay here for a few moments.
Breathing.
Noticing.
And allowing.
And when you are ready,
Gently bring yourself back.
There's no rush.
You don't need to feel different.
You don't need to feel calm.
Just a little more friendly towards your own mind.
That,
Dear one,
Is the truth.
That is enough.
Have a beautiful day.
