Moonstone's Dream Dragon,
Welcome.
So let's settle in,
In whatever way feels best for your body right now.
Because tonight's theme is simple,
And truthfully,
It can change everything.
You don't have to solve your lies at night.
You only have to be held.
I thought that was quite a beautiful message there.
And because so many of us arrive at bedtime and that's when the mind suddenly wants to work,
Replaying conversations,
Scanning for danger,
Planning tomorrow,
Trying to fix what happened today,
Or carrying emotions that don't even belong to us into our space.
So let's talk about a dragon who doesn't arrive with fire or force.
Instead,
It brings moonlight,
Softness,
And a steady,
Protective presence.
When I say Moonstone's Dream Dragon,
I'm using the language of an archetype and spirit images.
This is a way that the nervous system understands safety through symbols,
Sensations,
And presence.
So Moonstone,
As a gemstone,
Is known for inner glow.
And this effect can be called,
And I hope I pronounce this correctly,
But it's called the Adulère Scene.
Happens when the light moves through a thin,
Cracked layer inside the stone.
And I love this because it's just how the night often feels.
Not bright and obvious,
But more like a gentle glow beneath the surface.
And that's the medicine of this dragon.
Not fix it,
Not push through,
But let the light move gently until the body reminds or remembers it's safe.
In ancient story,
Moonstone was connected to the moon's mystery,
And some ancient Roman writings even describe it as moving with the lunar phases.
Whether we take it literally or poetically,
The message is the same.
Night is not a problem to solve,
It's a tide to ride.
So,
Connecting with this dragon,
It wants to help us with racing thoughts at bedtime.
The Moonstone Dream Dragon doesn't argue with his thoughts,
It doesn't fight them.
It simply becomes a steadier presence than the thought.
So you'll feel this dragon as a slow in-breath,
Or a soft weight in your body.
And a quiet sense of,
I can stop managing for a while.
It also can help with the fear in the dark,
Or feeling too open energetically.
And some people don't fear the dark itself,
But they fear what happens inside them in the dark.
They feel too perused,
Too exposed,
Too aware.
And this dragon brings a gentle boundary.
It's not a wall,
But a veil,
Like moonlight on water.
You can still sense,
Still feel,
And still be tender,
But you're not leaking energy.
We have also emotional sensitivity,
The over-empathy,
Or over-processing.
If you're someone who feels others deeply,
Night can become a dumping ground,
Where your nervous system tries to process everyone and everything.
And this dragon helps you to ask one clear question.
Is this mine to carry tonight?
And if it's not,
The dragon helps you return it with love and not guilt.
And then of course,
Letting the body downshift without forcing it.
Some nervous systems don't respond well to,
Let's relax.
And they hear it as a demand.
And the Moonstone Dragon never demands relaxation.
It offers permission.
Permission to be imperfect.
Permission to be unfinished.
Permission to rest while life keeps unfolding.
So here's a simple practice you can try tonight,
Even if you don't do the full meditation.
Place one hand on your chest,
And one hand on your belly,
And then say softly,
Not tonight,
To problems,
Or overthinking,
Or not tonight,
To planning,
Or not tonight,
To proving anything.
And when you feel complete with explaining that it's not going to happen tonight,
Then you can say,
Tonight,
I am held.
And that's it.
That's your doorway.
So,
Let's meet this dragon together.
