This short grounding meditation is most powerfully done when either standing or sitting right on the earth,
But can be enjoyed anywhere that's comfortable.
So find a comfortable position for yourself.
I want you to bring your attention to the top of your head.
Breathing in and out,
Just at the top of your head,
Rest your attention.
Then move that consciousness from the top of your head,
Drawing your awareness down through your head,
Over your eyes,
Over your mouth and chin,
Down your neck,
Bringing your awareness to your shoulders.
Be aware of your body as your awareness moves down your arms.
Feel your chest move up and down as you breathe.
Bring your awareness down over your chest and over your abdomen.
Draw that awareness down over your hips and thighs,
Moving your awareness to your knees,
Just feeling your body as your awareness moves all the way down,
Down your legs,
Through your calves and ankles,
And move all the way to your feet.
Now in the present moment,
Take a big inhale and as you exhale,
Picture in your mind's eye,
Roots coming down from your feet,
Moving into the ground.
With every inhale,
Bring the nutrients of the earth up into your body.
And with every exhale,
Move the awareness into the roots,
Moving them further down into Mother Earth,
Inhaling the nutrients and the healing energy through your feet.
And with an exhale,
Move that energy down through the roots,
Growing the roots,
Deepening the roots,
Making them thicker into Mother Earth.
Be here for several breaths,
Inhaling the nutrients and the love from Gaia,
Exhaling to deepen your roots into the earth.
This breathing can be done at any time to ground you in any moment.
Bring your awareness here whenever you feel you need to connect with yourself.
