Welcome to this meditation for evening gratitude before sleep.
Take a moment to get comfortable lying down in a position that feels fully supportive.
Let your arms lie gently at your sides.
Allow your legs to relax.
Gently close your eyes.
Let the space behind your eyes settle into rest.
Let's begin with three slow breaths together.
Inhale gently,
Inviting calm into your body.
Exhale slowly,
Releasing the day and welcoming the night.
Again,
Breathe in comfort and ease.
Breathe out,
Letting your body sink into rest.
One more time,
Inhale softness and relaxation.
Exhale,
Settling deeply into the space beneath you.
Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Each inhale and exhale carries you into the sense that the day has closed and sleep is near.
Now,
Silently repeat to yourself,
Thank you for this day.
Thank you for what supported me as the moments unfolded.
Thank you for carrying me to this time of rest and renewal.
Let the words settle softly within you and stay here for several breaths,
Simply resting in gratitude and ease.
From here,
Bring to mind one or two things from this day that you feel grateful for.
There is no need to search.
Let them arise naturally.
Extending further with each breath,
Allow gratitude to gently expand through your body.
Feel the gratitude move through your body.
With a sense of calm and softness.
Continuing on,
Imagine the day slowly fading into the background.
Now,
Bring your attention to the top of your head.
Imagine a soft wave of relaxation moving downward to your forehead,
Your eyes,
Your cheeks,
And jaw.
The soft wave continues through your neck and shoulders.
Your arms feel heavy and at ease.
Your hands relax completely.
This gentle wave moves through your chest and back.
Your breathing feels smooth and natural.
Your belly softens.
Your lower back releases.
Now,
Notice your hips and legs resting more fully.
Your thighs relax.
Your knees settle.
Your calves and ankles loosen.
Your feet feel warm and heavy.
You are settled into ease and relaxation now.
Carry this with you,
Letting it stay with you throughout the night.
Everything for this moment is complete.
Wishing you peaceful sleep as you drift away naturally.
