The Hare and Tortoise Join Forces by R.

M.

Bode I hope you have heard the original story,

Aesop's beautiful creation with moral allegory.

If you haven't heard about the Hare and Tortoise's legendary race,

The tortoise was the victor with his slow and steady pace.

The next part of the story begins right here anew.

Please allow me to reveal it for the first time with all of you.

After the race was over,

The Hare realized he would have won if he had just kept running at a fast pace all along.

He is certain he would have taken first place if he had continued to run swift and strong.

After some time passed,

The Hare challenged the tortoise to another race.

The tortoise accepted and here's what took place.

The Hare ran as fast as he could until he crossed the finish line.

It wasn't even close,

The Hare felt so happy and fine.

After race two,

The tortoise now had some soul searching to do.

Perhaps he became overconfident,

Perhaps a little arrogant too.

The tortoise challenged the Hare to one last final race in a different part of the forest in a more neutral place.

This race would feature some rivers and creeks with some beautiful views of the picturesque mountain peaks.

The Hare accepted without hesitation.

He was confident that he would win no matter the location.

The third race was close until the end.

The Hare faced a deep river and could no longer pretend.

The Hare can't swim.

He was hoping he could just avoid the river and find a way around.

But this was it.

There's no other way to the finish line to be found.

The tortoise dropped in the water and he sensed the Hare's fear.

He asked if the Hare wanted to hop on his shell and he would steer.

The Hare hopped on the tortoise's back and together they crossed to the other side of the riverbank.

The Hare offered the tortoise tremendous gratitude and thanks.

They decided there was no need to finish the race.

There was a more meaningful and significant thing that took place.

The Hare and the tortoise saw no more need to compete with one another.

Through teamwork,

They began a lasting friendship with more adventures to discover.

Thanks for listening to the Hare and tortoise join forces.

I hope you learned something valuable and new.

May you find a friend to help support in all that you go through.
