
Mabon Guided Meditation
Mabon is the perfect time of year when day and night are equal to look back at all you have achieved in the last few months, the seeds you planted and take stock of what needs to stay and what needs to go. Welcome to this guided meditation to celebrate Mabon by Ray Caroline Cowanum from Radiant Tangled Energy.
Please make sure you are somewhere comfortable where you can sit or lie back to relax and not be disturbed.
Turn off all distractions and have some water by your side for when this meditation has finished.
Just close your eyes and as you do so take a deep breath in and on the out breath just release everything that doesn't need to be in this space.
Take another deep breath in and on the out breath just release everything that doesn't need to be here.
And just allow your breathing to fall into its natural rhythm.
Every in breath relaxing you more and more and every out breath just releasing everything that doesn't need to be in this space.
And as your breathing falls into its natural rhythm just think about relaxing your whole body.
Think about relaxing your whole body from the top of your head to the tips of your toes all the way down your arms to your fingertips.
But when you think about relaxing so you will relax.
Give yourself permission and allow yourself to relax.
And I want you now to see if you can imagine or know a beautiful golden light above your head.
A beautiful golden light of peace and relaxation.
And just allow this beautiful golden light to move down into your aura.
That energy space around you.
And just allow it to move into your body.
Filling you up physically,
Mentally and emotionally with this beautiful golden energy of relaxation.
And just feel your whole body relaxing.
And take your awareness to the top of your head and as you do allow the golden light to relax the top of your head.
Feel that relaxation moving down the back of your head.
Down into your brow,
Down into your temples and your eyes and your eyelids feeling so heavy and relaxed.
As this relaxation moves down into your ears,
Your nose,
Your cheeks,
Your mouth and your jaw.
Your jaw feeling so relaxed.
As this relaxation moves down into your neck and you feel your neck muscles start to relax.
As this relaxation moves down into your shoulders and your shoulders start to relax.
It's as if they are being bathed in beautiful warm sunshine.
So relaxing.
Just allow this relaxation to move down into your upper arms,
Your elbows,
Your lower arms,
Your wrists,
Your hands and your fingers.
And as your arms relax,
Just allow this relaxation to move into your upper body.
Feel all your chest muscles start to relax.
All your stomach muscles relaxing.
All of your back relaxing.
The muscles in your back.
And your spine relaxing vertebrae by vertebrae by vertebrae.
As this relaxation moves down into your hips,
Your pelvis,
Your buttocks,
Sinking you deeper down where you are sitting or lying.
And allow this relaxation to move down into your thighs,
Your knees,
Your calves,
Your shins,
Your ankles,
Your heels,
Your feet and your toes.
And your whole body is just so beautifully relaxed.
I want you now to engage your imagination and imagine and know or see 10 wide safe comfortable steps leading down to a beautiful doorway.
And in a moment you are going to walk down these steps from 10 to 1.
Each descending number relaxing you more and more.
So if you're ready now,
Let's start walking down the stairs 10,
Going deeper down the stairs 9,
Deeper down the stairs 8,
More and more relax.
Deeper down the stairs 7,
Going deeper down the stairs 6,
Deeper down the stairs 5,
More and more relax.
Deeper down the stairs 4,
Deeper down the stairs 3,
All the way down the stairs 2,
1,
Take a step off that bottom step and stand in front of a beautiful doorway.
And I want you now to open that door and as you do you step through and you find yourself at the edge of a forest early on a September morning.
There is a fine mist around you and a slight chill in the air.
As you look towards the sky you can see the sun looking very pale,
Just waiting to get brighter as the morning progresses.
It feels so magical,
So still and quiet,
Just standing here at the edge of the forest.
You notice a female deer,
A doe in the forest just looking at you and it seems as if she is beckoning you to follow her into the forest.
You feel safe and secure as you take a step into the forest.
You find yourself in this beautiful forest,
The trees covered with green,
Red and golden leaves.
Some of the trees have bare twigs or branches where the leaves have fallen down already.
You can smell the scent of autumn on its way.
You follow the doe deeper into the forest.
Each step you take relaxing you more and more.
You feel so safe and relaxed walking through this forest.
Maybe noticing the leaves,
The squirrels,
The birds,
The insects and flowers all around you preparing for winter.
You go deeper and deeper into the forest,
More and more relaxed.
Before long you reach a clearing and in the middle is a wooden set of scales marked with a yin yang symbol.
These are the scales of balance.
As day and night are of equal length getting ready for the nights to get longer.
This is a time to look at your gains or what you have not yet achieved or any losses from the seeds that you planted earlier in the year.
As you approach the scales you notice some stones on the ground and a piece of charcoal.
You sit down and on the stones you start writing,
Drawing symbols,
Words or pictures that represent everything you have gained,
Projects you have completed,
Successes you have had this year and I will leave you for a moment or two to write or draw these down.
Thank you.
Now that you have written or drawn on some of these stones just stand up and place them on one of the scales.
It does not matter whether it is the right or the left scale and just watch that scale move.
Once this is done you now sit down again and on the stones left you start writing,
Drawing symbols,
Words or pictures that represent everything you have not achieved or any losses or regrets you may have and I will leave you for a moment or two to write or draw these down.
Thank you.
Now that you have written,
Drawn on these stones,
Stand up and place them on the other side of the scales and watch that scale move.
Is the scale balanced or is it more weighted down on your gains or on your losses?
You notice that the doe comes closer and as she does,
She transforms into the beautiful goddess of Mabon and you feel privileged and blessed that she has chosen to be with you at this time.
She has come to help you celebrate the gains you have had,
The projects you have completed and the successes you have had.
She has also come to help you look at any losses,
Regrets or anything you haven't achieved from those planted seeds earlier in the year.
Do you understand where you might have gone wrong,
Why you didn't achieve it and to understand and clear any regrets.
You will also be able to see what seeds you can take from these that you can put to one side to nurture and plant again next year with new insights just as farmers setting aside seeds for the next year.
I will leave you with the goddess for a moment or two.
You now thank the goddess for the celebration,
Guidance and healing she has blessed you with and you let her know that you will make a commitment to look after Mother Earth,
Feed the birds,
Be kind to animals and other humans and will take the time to celebrate the joy of being alive,
All your achievements and the achievements of others.
The goddess now transforms back into the doe and beckons you to follow her back through the forest,
Back to your doorway and before you know it you have reached the edge of the forest again and you bow to the doe and she bows to you before making her way back into the forest.
You notice that the mist has cleared,
The air is warmer,
The sun is brighter and your current life is ready to be enjoyed and explored.
And now if you close your door you can open it,
Your door is open and you can now step through and find yourself at the bottom of your staircase.
And in a moment I'm going to count up the stairs from one to ten,
Each ascending number bringing you back into the present,
Into the here and now,
Remembering your whole journey.
So if you're ready now let's start walking up the stairs,
One,
Coming further up the stairs,
Two,
Further up the stairs,
Three,
Further up the stairs,
Four,
Remembering your whole journey,
Further up the stairs,
Five and six,
Coming all the way up the stairs,
Seven,
Eight,
Coming all the way back to remember the joy of being alive,
All your achievements and celebrating the achievements of others,
All the way up the stairs,
Nine,
Coming all the way to the top of the stairs,
Ten,
Fully back,
Fully present in the here and now,
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Move your body and when you're ready open your eyes and if need be drink some water and welcome back,
Ready to enjoy the rest of your day or have a good night's sleep.
