Meditation is a gentle reminder that we need not be at odds with ourselves. In the stillness it provides, we reconnect with our body, fostering a sense of trust in its wisdom. Rather than battling against our own thoughts and emotions, we learn to observe them without judgment. This practice harmonizes internal discord and guides us toward self-acceptance. Meditating encourages us to honor our body's innate intelligence, ultimately facilitating a deeper understanding and unity within ourselves.

Chapter 9,

I am not at war with myself.

I am not at war with myself.

Breathe in and breathe out and see that the body does not want resistance in the flow of breath.

The body does not hold animosity against its own life force.

Any affliction comes from an outside experience.

You can be at war with an outside source,

But you can be at peace within.

If you are at war with your memories,

Have unconditional grace for your experience.

You can wish for no ill will to live in your body.

You can wish to harbor no resentment and to no longer identify with the traumas of your past.

When you look at your system within,

You will see that it wants to bring in life and life force energy.

Your internal system wants to be in harmony within.

Even if you don't feel it,

Know the desire lives within.

Though there can be war from the opposition,

You are not the opposition within.

Though you can be at war with your past,

Your past is not who you are within.

Even when battling afflictions,

Harbor no anger or resentment towards the self.

Remember you are at peace,

You are not at war with yourself.

Though the battles outside may enter your life,

Remember you are at peace within.

I am not at war with myself.

Take a moment in a reclined or flat position and feel your hand on your heart and the other on your belly.

Notice the flow of your breath and heartbeat.

You will see the body does not want to hurt you.

If you surrender,

You will not be defeated.

Thank you. My mantra for the day is, there may be hatred and war all around me, but there is peace within me. I must share that peace. Thank you for helping me have a positive outlook on this day.
