Connecting To Your Child That Has Passed - Love Is Everlasting

The loss of a child is one of the most devastating things a parent could ever experience. This guided practice is for parents who have experienced this loss. The meditation takes you on a beautiful journey to help you try to connect to your beloved child.

Let's begin by getting comfortable in your chair and close your eyes. As you get comfortable, Take a deep breath in, Hold it for a second and as you release, Let all the stresses of the day go. Take another deep breath in and release. You find yourself starting to relax while your worries and anxieties are going away. As you start to relax, You feel yourself starting to drift off. You are now standing on the back deck of a restaurant that overlooks the ocean. As you stand there holding your drink, You find yourself gazing out into the ocean. The seagulls are flying above you and as you take a deep breath in, You smell the saltiness of the ocean and it brings a smile to your face. The warm breeze is lightly blowing gently, Swirling around you like a warm embrace. You look up and notice that the sky is light blue and the clouds are puffy white. The sun is shining so brightly that the sand is glistening. Breathe in, Breathe out. Breathe in, Breathe out. You take a sip of your drink and as you put it down on the wooden railing, You notice that there is a carving in the wood in the shape of a heart. As you look down at the heart, You notice that there are hearts all up and down the railing. Some are small, Some are large and some are entwined and some have arrows going through them. As you look at them, You can't help but feel a little sadness in your own heart. Some days are better than others but the pain and the achiness that you feel in your own heart is always there. Breathe in, Breathe out. Breathe in, Breathe out. You take a deep breath in and you finish your drink. You put your glass down on the table that is behind you. As you walk to the edge of the deck, You decide to take a walk down to the ocean. As you walk down the steps, You stop at the bottom and take your sandals off and throw them off to the side. As you start walking down to the ocean, You feel the warmth of the sand beneath your feet. As you get closer to the ocean, You notice that the water is a beautiful blue-green. It looks so tranquil and the waves crashing against the surf. The rhythm of the ocean is music to your ears. As you look out on the horizon, You see two dolphins jumping out of the water and a sailboat gliding by. This scene reminds you of a postcard you've once seen. Breathe in, Breathe out. Breathe in, Breathe out. You start walking down the beach. As the waves come in, The water touches your toes and it feels so good. As you are walking, You notice that there is a jetty up ahead and as you get closer, You see a rainbow of color at the very tip. You climb up on the jetty and you start walking to the end. You notice that all the rocks that make up the jetty are filled with an array of different colors. You also notice that there are beautiful little white and yellow flowers growing in between the rocks. As you get to the end of the jetty, You notice that the view is just breathtaking. You sit down and put your feet in the water. The water feels so good that you start wiggling your toes. As you look down at the water, You notice how crystal clear it is and you can see a rainbow of fish swimming in and out of the coral. Breathe in, Breathe out. Breathe in, Breathe out. As you gaze at the fish now swirling around your feet, You notice a red heart floating towards you in the water. As you try to reach for it, You notice there are more hearts. As you look around, You can't believe how many hearts are now floating all around you. You now see that the waves are getting higher and the surface crashing against the rocks. You notice the white foam from the waves are changing colors. The foam now looks like a beautiful prism. As you look at the foam swirling around, You see your child start to emerge. As they come forward, You hold out your arms and you embrace. They sit down next to you. You notice how beautiful they are. Their smile is radiant and they are so excited to see you. Take these few minutes now to catch up with your child. Breathe in, Breathe out. Breathe in, Breathe out. Breathe out. You notice that the waves are starting to get higher and the white foam is changing colors. As you get up, Your child hands you a beautiful red heart. As you take the heart, You look down at it and notice the message that is written on it. I left my blueprint in your mind, My imprint on your heart and my imprint on your soul. We will be forever joined by our love. As you look up at your child, You press the heart up against you. Your child looks at you lovingly and smiles, Gives you a hug and says, Love isn't always perfect. It isn't a fairy tale or a storybook and it doesn't always come easy. Love is overcoming obstacles, Facing challenges, Fighting to be together, Holding on and never letting go. It is a short word, Easy to spell, Difficult to define and impossible to live without. Love is work, But most of all, Love is realizing that every hour, Every minute and every second was worth it because we were joined together by love. As they turn to leave, They blow you a kiss and whisper, I love you. And you whisper back, I love you. Breathe in, Breathe out. Breathe in, Breathe out. Holding your red heart, You turn and start walking back down the jetty. As you get to the end, You step down and you feel your feet in the sand and it feels nice and warm. As you walk back to the restaurant, You feel the cool breeze against your face and it feels good. Up ahead, You notice a few people crowded together, Looking up into the sky. As you look up, You see a million heart shaped balloons floating in the air and you just have to smile. You reach the deck and pick up your sandals. You walk back up the stairs and you stand by the railing, Taking one last look at the ocean and all of the beautiful heart shaped balloons that are still floating in the sky. As you bend down to put on your sandals, You see a big heart carved on the side of the railing with the words, I love you mom, Inside of it. As you gaze at it, You feel this warm, Loving sensation engulf you and you know in your heart that your child is always with you. Breathe in, Breathe out. Breathe in, Breathe out. Take another deep breath in and as you release your breath, You begin to feel your fingers and toes and you start to wiggle them. Take another deep breath in and as you release your breath, This sensation is now traveling throughout your entire body as you awaken. As you open your eyes, You feel restored and revitalized, Infused with the infinite divinity and connected eternally with your child in both heart and soul. Breathe in, Breathe out.
