Some of you know that I've studied with Amma for 17 years.
And Amma is an avatar who is based in India.
And she has gone around the world for 35 years until COVID,
Hugging people and giving them a direct experience of unconditional love.
And if you think about it,
The hugging is a very mammalian thing to do.
And it seems to me so much what we need right now,
Because we're getting so heady and we're forgetting that we're mammals.
And we have to give our mammalian aspects equal importance to our intellectual capacities.
Because if we ignore the fact we're mammals,
Then it's like giving a lion a ladder and telling him to climb up,
Just climb up this ladder.
I mean,
What's the lion going to do at the top of the ladder,
Just sit there?
I mean,
It is not sustainable.
And it's really the same with us.
We're mammals and we have to include our mammalian nature for sustainability.
And mammals need hugs and kisses.
They are warm-blooded.
They nurture.
They often travel in herds.
There's a community.
There's community for the mammals.
And if we get too far from this,
We're basically going to have mental problems,
Because we're mammals.
And if we try to ignore the fact we're mammals,
It's like trying to impose some kind of image of false perfection upon ourselves,
Of trying to become like a machine or something.
And it's not going to work.
So please,
You know,
Let.
.
.
Honour your mammalian needs as much as possible.
I know it's hard in a technological society,
But if you're conscious of it,
You can do it.
Like,
You know,
I had a dog before I started travelling.
I had a dog and I would,
You know,
Take this dog for walks and I would have very sweet conversations with people,
Just sharing the human condition,
And that did a lot for me.
It functioned like my community when I was doing a lot of spiritual work.
So,
Anyway,
You know,
We're in a difficult time.
So be gentle with yourselves.
Okay,
Bless your hearts.
