You know,
Sometimes we're brought up in a religion and we're given a set of beliefs and customs,
Rituals that we do,
That our families do,
Or maybe we didn't grow up in a religious household and we just came upon spirituality later.
So we read about it,
Or watch videos,
Or maybe we practice some yoga,
We might even meditate.
But there's a big gap between that kind of religion and the actual lived spirituality,
The actual lived quality of a deeply religious life.
And it takes a lot more courage than the other.
But it also brings a lot more fulfillment.
So what is the bridge between kind of an intellectual understanding of religion or spirituality and actually living it,
Becoming a Christ within oneself,
Becoming a Buddha within oneself,
Living truth at a really deep level?
Well,
The bridge is the yearning for the Creator,
The courage to do it,
And then the willingness to look at the empirical evidence,
To experiment,
To prove to yourself over and over and over through your direct experience in life that the Creator exists,
That this universe is based on unconditional love.
As I've said many times,
It's staring us in the face because we know everything's energy,
But we just don't feel like that this is unconditional love or the Creator because we're so alienated from the truth of our hearts.
But it's hard for us to see this because we're looking through the eyes of alienation.
But we can learn to take off these glasses of alienation and learn to embody unconditional love,
And it is through experimentation.
You test the premise that the Creator is loving,
And you act as if it's true,
And you express this energy.
When you come to hard times,
You look at it like this is the most loving thing that could possibly happen to you,
And that this is giving you an opportunity for you to allow your ego to die.
Maybe not all at once,
But just a bit of it.
It's like a big edifice that's sitting there blocking the sun,
And as bits of this edifice fall down,
We can see the sun.
We can see the Creator more and more.
See,
Nobody can do this for us.
This is a trouble.
We can listen to teachers till the cows come home,
But unless we experiment directly with our own lives,
Like put our own lives on the line.
It was easy for me in a way because with the doctor saying my child,
It was an incurable case of leukemia,
While he was still nursing.
It was easy for me just not to pay any attention to that because I was nursing him,
So I was feeling so close to him.
We're so bonded.
It's such a powerful bond.
So it was,
I mean,
What mother can stand by and watch her baby die if she could do something about it?
And the thing I felt I could do about it was to just hold the door open for his continued life.
And as I made that choice,
Within two weeks of making this deep choice,
The door opened and Olga Worrall,
Who worked from a distance with compassion,
This was what she did.
She was this incredible healer.
Somebody put me in touch with her and I phoned her and said,
Please,
Please work with us.
And she said,
Sure.
So from that day on,
My son's blood count started to fall.
So this was my big proof positive.
And then I just built on that.
Yeah,
It's,
You know,
Another way is to have experiences in meditation.
That's great to have experiences,
But still it has to be lived.
You have to live this greater trust.
And this is,
You know,
Where,
You know,
Human beings have a bit of trouble,
But,
You know,
It might be less scary to live in truth now than to stay stuck in the ego.
Because if you live in truth,
You try to live in truth,
The universe protects you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So anyway,
Bless your hearts.
Yeah,
Just bless your hearts,
Your dear hearts.
