Well,
In the West there's a lot of,
Maybe all over the world,
There's a lot of focus on power,
A lot of yearning for power.
But I wonder how many of us really realize that we have enormous power no matter how much money we've got,
Or what our job is,
Or who loves us.
You know,
Our power is in what thoughts we choose to entertain,
Because they will color our whole life,
They will control our whole life,
And they go beyond,
They go beyond this world.
They,
Our thoughts go out to the universe and affect the whole universe.
So you know,
It might be very satisfying to think about this power we have to control our own futures,
To affect other people,
And as I said,
You know,
Affect the universe.
Now I'm not talking about,
You know,
A Pollyanna attitude of trying to like force positive thoughts all the time,
Because if you do that,
That will just set in motion an avalanche of negative ones.
So that's not the way.
But what seems to be the way to me is to really get that we all have enormous power,
And the thoughts we entertain affect our futures and our present,
Obviously,
But our futures too.
They create our futures.
And you know,
If we're sitting on the bus,
They're affecting the person next to us.
It's just,
You know,
We're not really taught in schools or at home about just being responsible,
Being responsible to our own inner being,
Our eternal nature.
And as we do wake up to the fact that we are divine beings in human form,
We end up steering towards taking care of our inner climates.
And when we do that,
Life gets brighter and more satisfying.
Even if we don't have much money,
We don't have a great job.
In fact,
You know,
With positive thinking more constructively,
Thinking more positively,
Not in a forced way,
But just looking for the good in things,
You know,
You're far more likely to get promoted because everybody wants to be around somebody who's thinking that way.
