Welcome to a guided meditation with Panther.
Let's take a short journey to meet with your guide through the shadows,
Black Panther.
Panthers invitation to you is to allow her to assume your fear.
She's a formidable ally with no enemies.
Have your journal and pen near you as well as a glass of water.
If you can do this meditation at night in the dark when it's quiet around you,
Try to.
You can do this meditation seated if you like.
Sit comfortably on the floor to connect with the earth,
Feeling both of your sit bones fully engaged.
With a deep breath and a tall spine,
Hands on your knees or in your lap,
Fill your belly with air.
Let the ocean breath rise and fall with the sound of the sea coming in and going out,
With the waves.
Imagine that you're in a rain forest with the air around you moist,
The mud under your feet giving way a little bit as you walk a rough trail.
Dark is falling and the sounds of the forest are changing.
Crickets are keeping a rhythm that comforts you and you begin to walk to their beat as the forest grows dusky.
You see a great fallen log and sit down on its mossy surface to wait for her.
You have come here by invitation to meet with her,
Black Panther.
You see movement in the distant shadows and lean and velvety,
Her piercing green eyes appear.
She's very aware of her environment and she fixes you with her gaze and communicates silently for you to heighten your awareness.
As she approaches you can smell her musky coat which smells a little bit like a wet house cat but deeper and more earthy.
She stops several feet in front of you and sits down like a royal queen.
She's a large cat,
Equal to you in height from where you both sit,
Your eyes meeting.
Her tail switches softly signaling that she's observing you,
The sounds of the forest have faded into the background.
Watch her reverently with a steady stillness,
Hold her gaze,
Keep eye contact with her,
Trust her to lead you,
To protect you,
To show you the way through the darkness which is coming as the shadows grow thicker around you.
She stands and you stand.
Walk toward her slowly and put your feet on the path which is now growing fainter below your knees.
Before the light fades,
Bring your eyes to her eye level,
Allow her to sniff you,
Come nose to nose with her and hear her message for you.
Black Panther joins you at your side.
Place your hand onto her fur,
Feel the sureness of her muscles and the heat of her body radiating through her coat.
Begin to walk toward the blackness slowly,
Sure-footedly,
Feeling your own feet velvety and padded for a moment.
Panther is energized for this journey with you.
When you want to run or lie down,
She'll keep pace.
When you truly need to rest,
She'll keep watch.
When you're listening deeply,
Her ears will serve you.
When you're hungry,
She will nourish you.
When you remember,
She will stand strong for you.
When you are a child,
She will nurture and protect you.
Take Black Panther's medicine into your body.
Assimilate it so that you can draw on Black Panther's strength for the next few weeks.
Take a deep breath.
Come slowly back into your body.
Wiggle some fingers and toes.
And when you're ready,
Softly open your eyes.
When you're ready to move,
Drink some water.
Feel yourself fully grounded on the earth.
And pick up your journal and write about your experience.
