Now close your eyes and take a slow gentle breath in and softly breathe out.
Let the weight of the day begin to fade.
There's nothing you need to finish tonight.
Know where you need to go.
Nothing you need to solve.
This moment belongs only to you.
Imagine that midnight has quietly arrived.
The world outside is dark and still beneath a sky filled with deep rolling clouds.
A soft rain begins to fall.
Tiny droplets tap gently against the window.
A slow and peaceful rhythm,
Inviting your thoughts to become quieter.
You find yourself resting inside a small cottage hidden deep within a peaceful forest.
The cottage is old,
Warm and welcoming.
It's when walls glow beneath the light of a small fire burning in the stone fireplace.
You are resting in a soft bed beside a large window.
Thick blankets surround you,
Warm and comforting.
Outside,
The rain begins to fall more steadily.
It rolls gently across the roof and streams slowly down the glass.
Far away,
Thunder moves across the hills.
A deep and distant rumble.
Soft enough to be calming.
Far away to remind you that you are completely safe.
A storm remains outside,
You remain inside,
Warm beneath your blankets,
Protected by the strong wooden walls of the cottage.
With every quiet roll of thunder,
Your body relaxes a little more.
Allow your shoulders to drop,
Let your arms become loose and heavy.
Feel your hands resting peacefully.
Let your legs sink deeper into the softness beneath you.
Take a slow breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Imagine releasing the last traces of tension from your body.
Breathe in the peaceful scent of rain,
Warm wood,
And the faint sweetness of a candle glowing nearby.
Breathe out everything you no longer need to carry tonight.
A gentle flash of lightning appears behind the curtains.
For just a moment,
The forest outside becomes silver beneath the stormy sky.
Tall trees sway softly in the wind.
Their branches move like quiet shadows watching over the cottage.
Then,
The warm darkness returns.
The fire crackles softly beside you.
Its golden light dances across the walls and ceilings.
On a small table near the bed.
On a small table near the bed,
A candle flickers besides a warm cup of tea.
A thin ribbon of steam rises slowly into the peaceful room.
At the root of your bed,
A small black cat is curled comfortably upon a soft rug.
It stretches its paws.
Turns in a tiny circle and settle once again beneath its fluffy tail.
Its gentle purring blends with the rain outside.
Listen to the peaceful sound surrounding you.
The rain upon the roof,
The quiet crackling of the fire.
The distance rolling thunder,
And the soft purring of the sleepy cat.
Each sound guides you deeper into relaxation.
Imagine that every drop of rain is washing away one worry.
One thought.
One moment from the day that you no longer need.
Let the storm carry it all away.
There is nothing to remember right now.
Nothing to prepare.
Nothing waiting for your attention.
The night is holding everything for you.
All you need to do is rest.
Your breathing becomes slower.
Your heartbeat becomes calm and steady.
Your eyelids feel heavier.
The space between your thoughts grow wider,
Softer,
And quieter.
Outside,
Another gentle rumble of thunder travels through the forest.
It begins far away.
Rolled slowly across the hills.
And disappears into the darkness.
You're safe.
You are warm.
Or deeply comfortable.
The fire begins to settle into glowing red embers.
The room becomes darker and softer.
The candles burned low besides the bed.
The storm also begins to move farther away.
Only the rain remains.
Steady and peaceful.
Falling like a quiet midnight lullaby.
Let your body sing deeper into the bed.
Let the blankets hold you gently.
Let the sound of rain carry you towards sleep.
You are resting inside your warm cottage.
Hidden safely within the sleeping forest.
While the rain continues to fall beneath the midnight sky.
You are safe.
You are peaceful.
You are allowed to let go.
And with every quiet breath,
You drift deeper.
Deeper.
Into calm and restful sleep.
Good night.
