Hi,
This is Christine with Peace to Earth.
Today I will be reading a poem from my Poems for Presence series.
Let's begin by taking three mindful breaths together now.
When listening to this poem,
Allow yourself to connect to the words and become completely immersed in the experience.
Allow the energy of the poem to comfort and calm you.
Today's poem is called Drink from the Sky.
Never let the rain keep you from going outside.
Rather open up your mouth and drink from the sky.
See the ripples on the pond bouncing around so free,
How they all melt into oneness entering eternity.
Watch the water beads glisten as from the trees they drip.
Catch one on your finger.
Bring it to your lips like the birds and budding flowers.
Allow yourself to take a sip.
Listen to the sound of rain.
Allow your soul to calm.
The waters from the mother are but a gift,
A healing balm.
A balm that's freely given to smooth your ruffled soul,
To bring your mind some quiet,
To make your body whole.
And when the rain should make you cold,
Just head back to your nest.
Snuggle beneath the covers and close your eyes to rest.
As she pitter-patters on your window,
A steady rhythm she will keep.
Rest as a newborn child does,
Until mother lulls you off to sleep.
Return to your breath and continue to feel the energy of that poem.
Thank you for joining me today in our Poems for Presence series.
Namaste.
