Hi,

This is Christine with Peace to Earth.

I designed this 5-minute meditation specifically for parents who are very busy and who have a difficult time finding the space for meditation.

According to Thich Nhat Hanh,

All you need is one conscious breath to reach freedom,

Freedom from the past,

Freedom from the future,

To bring yourself into presence.

So I'd like you to begin by getting into a comfortable seated position with a long spine.

Begin taking in your surroundings.

Notice the walls of the room you're in,

Furniture,

Colors,

Shapes.

Notice your own body in this space.

Close down your eyes now and begin to connect to your breath.

Notice the temperature of the air as you inhale.

Notice how it's warmer on the exhale.

Follow your breath as it travels down your throat and back out again.

Follow your breath as it enters your upper chest.

Follow it into your abdomen and back out again.

See if you can send your breath all the way down your legs and into your toes.

On the inhale,

Breathe in peace.

On the exhale,

Release any stress or tension you're still holding.

Inhale peace,

Release stress and tension.

Peace,

Release stress.

Continue to do this at your own pace.

Bring a gentle smile,

A Buddha smile to your lips.

Place your hands on your heart.

Send love and gratitude to yourself now for taking time out to reconnect to yourself and to the beautiful present moment.

Namaste.
