Hello and welcome to this Inner Smile meditation.
This is a beautiful and traditional Qigong meditation aiming at moving energy throughout the body and smiling towards our five main organs.
Which are the heart,
The center of love,
Courage but also grasping and attachment.
The lungs related to relationships but also sadness.
The liver on the right side related to anger,
Frustration,
Rage but also compassion.
The spleen on the left side,
An overlooked organ most of the time but very important in Chinese medicine.
It's the center of joy and on the other side of overthinking.
And then finally the kidneys related to fear,
Trauma,
Phobia but also related to the depth of life,
The mystery of life.
And it's also the center of our life energy.
So let's start.
And let's start by relaxing our body and focusing inward.
And to do that we're gonna take three deep inhales and three deep exhales.
And as you take this inhale try to inflate your belly as much as it's comfortable.
And then let's focus on relaxing our body on the chair or the mat or the sofa or the bed.
Relaxing all our muscles from top to bottom.
And we're just going to quickly scan the body down.
From the top of the head,
Relaxing the muscles on the top of the head,
The face,
The brain,
The muscles around the head,
The heels,
The neck,
The shoulders,
The arms,
Upper arms,
Lower arms,
The fingers.
And then the torso,
The upper back,
The solar plexus,
The belly,
The pelvic region.
And then the middle back,
Lower back,
Lumbar region,
The hips.
And then moving down to our upper legs,
Knees,
Lower legs,
The Achilles,
The heels,
Upper feet,
Lower feet,
And the toes from the big toe to the small toe.
And then we're going to imagine that we look at our body from the outside and we're going to visualize the entire body relaxing as we do that.
And now let's start with the inner smile meditation.
So we're going to start by visualizing either a smiling son or a smiling child.
And whatever works for you,
I'm going to do it with a smiling son,
But you're welcome to continue with a smiling child.
So let's start by visualizing a beautiful smiling son.
And you can see the face of a smiling son,
Full of joy and energy.
And we're going to imagine that that smiling son sends rainbow-like energy onto our face.
You can see your face becoming soaked with that rainbow-like energy from top to bottom.
Let's take another inhale,
More energy coming from the sun.
And same with the exhale,
More energy comes.
And then next inhale,
We're going to send that beautiful energy from the face to our heart.
And if it's easier,
You can visualize that the energy goes physically from your face,
Through your mouth,
Through your nose,
Through your throat,
Through your neck,
Through your lungs and into your heart.
And then every inhale and exhale,
More of that beautiful rainbow-like energy goes from your face to your heart.
Now coming back to your heart.
And next we're going to send that beautiful energy from our heart to our lungs.
And maybe starting with the left lung and then the right lung,
Inner part of the lungs,
Outer part of the lungs.
And same,
Every inhale and exhale,
More of that beautiful rainbow-like energy goes from your heart and completely soaks your left lung and your right lung.
And then letting go of the lungs and coming back to your heart.
And next we're going to send that beautiful energy from the heart to the liver on the right side of your body,
Just underneath your ribcage.
And your liver gets completely soaked,
Inner part of the liver and outer part of the liver.
And this is what we're going to do.
And letting go of the liver,
Coming back to your heart.
And next we're going to send that beautiful rainbow energy from the heart to the spleen on the left side of the body,
Just underneath the ribcage.
And same thing,
More of that beautiful energy goes from your heart to your spleen with every inhale and every exhale.
And now we're going to send that beautiful rainbow energy from the heart to the liver on the right side of the liver.
And letting go of the spleen,
Coming back to the heart.
And we're going to send that beautiful energy from the heart to the kidneys.
So on the back side of your body,
Halfway over your ribcage and halfway under your ribcage.
And same principle,
Sending more of that beautiful smiling rainbow-like energy from the heart to the kidneys.
And maybe with a left kidney if it feels right and then the right kidney,
Inner part and outer part.
And now we're going to send that beautiful rainbow energy from the heart to the spleen on the right side of the ribcage.
And letting go of the kidneys and coming back to the heart.
And next we're going to send that beautiful energy from the heart to the center of the brain.
If you imagine there's a point,
A very small point just in between your ears.
And we're going to send the energy from the heart to that point at the center of the brain.
And then finally,
The last part of this meditation.
This is your opportunity to send that beautiful energy from your heart to any part of your body that needs care,
Attention or love today.
And it's the same principle,
Sending a rainbow-like energy from your heart to that part of your body.
And now we're going to send that beautiful rainbow energy from the heart to the spleen on the right side of the ribcage.
And coming back to your heart.
And if it feels right,
Maybe thank your heart for doing what it just did for you.
And thank yourself for taking this step to care for your body.
Look after yourself and enjoy this beautiful energy you've created in you.
And I wish you a wonderful day or night and continuation after this meditation.
Namaste.
