How do you feel at the start of a new day? Could you rise up every morning with an appreciation of this new day? To look at this day as unlike any other. Taking the time to appreciate the small moments in-between that we so often rush right through. What is something new you might like to try today? Is there something you do every single morning, but today you allow it to feel new? How does it feel to try something new?

Hi.

What if every day,

Every day we woke up,

We opened up our eyes,

We can truly embrace and look at the day ahead as brand new.

Sure,

Maybe some of the things we're about to do we've done over and over.

But in each day,

There is always something new.

These moments could be small and in between,

And so often missed.

But if we truly gave ourselves permission to be present,

To be aware,

To celebrate our life that is,

Just maybe we begin to notice all that is new each and every day.

Allow yourself to get comfortable.

Take a moment to feel the natural breath moving through your body.

Maybe even allow yourself a moment to decide whether you want to slow down your breath.

Or maybe you want to make it a bit more audible as you settle in,

Taking a few conscious breaths in and out.

Or maybe as you arrive,

You place your hand on your chest and you just observe,

Connect and feel the natural breath.

How would you like to settle in and arrive into a new practice today?

Can every day begin anew?

How does it feel for you at the start of a new day?

Maybe when you put on a new item of clothes.

You allow yourself to wander and maybe walk somewhere you never have before.

Discovering new.

How does something new feel for you?

Is there excitement?

Nerves?

Maybe some fear?

Self-doubt?

A sense of accomplishment?

How does it feel in your body when you do something new?

Or when you receive something new?

What are the things you would like to try that might be new to you?

What,

If anything,

Is holding you back?

Would you be willing to ask for help so that you could set out and try whatever that new thing is?

Or maybe it's a conversation that only you can have with yourself and that's okay too.

Maybe there's something new you want to try that you could bring into your practice that you could sit with.

Maybe whatever this new is for you,

It could be seen as a welcome challenge.

Remembering these don't have to be big or large epic moments.

Could you give yourself permission to embrace every day as new?

Even the coffee or tea you drink each morning?

Could you appreciate it for the new that it brings to your life on this day?

Take a moment right now to think about something new you experienced maybe today or this past week.

A new flavor you tasted.

A new song you heard.

Maybe a new pair of socks you bought.

And in this space just reflect on how new felt to you.

A new sunrise or a new sunset.

What if each time you woke up you viewed each day as brand new?

What a beautiful way to live life.

You might stay in your practice for a few minutes more.

Exploring the new little moments in your life that maybe you skip through.

Appreciating them.

Maybe the edges of your lips even curl up as you think about how delicious that bite of food might have tasted.

Or if it's time to move on,

Allow a moment of gratitude for one new thing in your life.

Maybe something that came up in this practice.

Or maybe something you would like to achieve.

Something new you really have wanted to do.

And in that space of gratitude say it as though it is so.

In the present moment.

And then together we'll close out our practice with one final deep breath in.

And let it go.
