Divine Hope This contemplation is one that enables the heart to know hope more deeply using scripture.
It's based on the tradition used by the Benedictine monks called Lectio Divina,
A divine reading of scripture.
There are four phases that you'll be led through.
So close your eyes and take a couple of deeper breaths.
And firstly just listen to or read these words.
May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him,
So that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
This time reflect on these words and what they mean for you.
May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him,
So that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Acknowledge the areas of hopelessness within you and know that God offers hope to you.
This time respond to the words.
May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him,
So that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Choose to allow God's hope to be your hope for your situation.
Finally receive the promise of hope given to you.
May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him,
So that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Receive God's hope for your life now.
And whenever you're ready you can open your eyes and end the contemplation.
May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him,
So that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
