I spent an entire afternoon lying on the couch watching tennis videos on YouTube,
Alternating between eating and sleeping.
For those who haven't had a television at home for over 10 years,
It's an event.
And that was for me.
As one of my meditation students says,
I had cotton wool in my head during that afternoon.
It's important to say that before that afternoon,
I had attended a meditation course on death.
I had led a day of meditation course on silence.
I had seen a live show.
I had taken a mega walk in nature.
And later that afternoon,
I facilitated practices in group,
Breathing and meditation in silence.
This is not the first,
Second or third time that I have let myself be hypnotized in long afternoons watching soccer videos.
It's not surprising as I was a football,
Soccer player and coach for 17 years.
But also in freezing with basketball,
Marathons and even rugby.
But this post has nothing to do with sports,
Television or entertainment.
Yes,
About integration and permission.
I recognize some of the pattern mentioned.
After silence retreats as a participant,
At the end of retreats or intensive courses as a teacher,
In the aftermath of immersive practices with microdosing after cyclical and necessary inner work in periods of suffering or death in the broadest sense.
Rest.
Yes.
Rest.
Yes.
It is not always or necessarily through doses of dopamine supported by idleness.
But the invitation to pause seems inevitable.
Respect the stop as long as you feel like it.
And yes,
Nature and context.
Give the body time and space to reprogram,
Itself,
Restructure the pillars of understanding,
Renew feelings,
Ideas and perceptions.
We could talk about the spiritual hangover here.
Give in to the party or surrender to the after.
I understand it more as responsibility and self-sustainability,
As the natural flow of action and integration,
The permanent dance of surrendering and allowing oneself.
Whatever the meditation practice,
It must include time to be embraced and welcomed.
The ways of doing so are explorations of life itself.
Yes,
Still,
About this rest and integration,
There is an unnatural risk of carrying out inner development work or participating in an immersive retreat in which,
In the end,
You return directly to the homework routine without time or surrender for the resulting process to occur.
I risk saying that it lacks respect and love for the process and for ourselves.
And this is something very earthly,
As the same happens when we travel or we participate in absorbing social events.
The after is as important as the during.
The before,
Too.
So we have here a triple,
Equitable axis.
How we live,
How we experience,
How we integrate.
Honor and dignity to the rest period,
Which is natural with softness,
Lightness,
Affection,
Connection.
In a meeting marked between being,
Remaining,
Feeling.
Thank you,
My friend.

Please.
It's very important.
A big hug in your heart and see you in the next Daily Pneuma.
