The aim of this session is to get familiar with the concept of self-esteem and understand how it affects our wellbeing.

We all want to be happy, but sometimes we don't know how! This can be in part because we do not know what we want in life or what values are ruling our lives. Not having this clarified promotes patterns of behavior that cause pain and suffering. During this session, we will try to identify our values and how close they are to the values that move our hearts and how far they are from the life we want to have.

More often than not, the opinion others have about us has a strong effect on us. However, we do not take into account that what we think about ourselves has a greater impact. We seem to ignore that the way we perceive ourselves will determine how well or bad we will do in life. During this session, we will be talking about the basis of our self-concept.

We have learned that putting ourselves first is somehow shameful and that the correct way is to act so that others are happy and free of suffering. This prevents us from being compassionate with ourselves even if we are going through tough times because there is always someone else that may need our attention. In this session, we will explore the path of self-compassion and how from this compassionate "selfishness", our compassion towards others gets strengthened.

Saying No! can be very difficult at times. This inability is based on the fear of being rejected, excluded, or confronted. We do not realize that our lack of assertiveness is very damaging because it does not only create immediate discomfort but also long-term resentments. In this session, we will come into contact with assertiveness and the benefits of making it part of our daily lives.

During this session, we will reflect on the effect others have on our self-esteem levels, as well as the role we have in the self-esteem of others.
