This is Nitya with Nitya Living,
A holistic yoga refuge.
Thank you for joining me today.
This guided relaxation will fill you with inspiration and giving you some wisdom and inspiration to overcome obstacles,
Stresses and anxieties that you may be experiencing in your life right now.
Let's start by taking three big breaths in and releasing to the sound vibration om.
Om.
Om.
Om.
Keep yourself lying down comfortably,
Whether out in the grass,
On a yoga mat or your bed or the couch,
In a space where you're not disturbed,
Knowing that you are safe and you are held in this very moment.
Taking a deep breath in and exhale slowly.
Deep breath in,
Exhale slowly.
Continue to follow your breath mindfully.
Notice how your body feels right now,
Not to judge but just as a witness.
Notice the quality of your breath,
Where your mind is,
Where you are right now in your life.
Are you experiencing a lot of obstacles,
Frustrations,
Stress,
Anxiety?
It's like a stream where a lot of rocks have blocked the flow of the water and your response may be to push ahead,
To push past the obstacles,
To push back against what is making you feel discomfort.
What's making you feel exactly how you're feeling right now and it's okay,
It's okay.
The challenge isn't actually the obstacle.
The challenge is how you respond to the obstacle,
How you respond to these challenges that arise in your day-to-day life and to recognize the gift that they can present to us even when they're really painful.
It's hard to imagine anything that is difficult or painful being a gift.
But what really is being asked is that you take a step back,
That you pause and not react,
That you not react as much as you want to.
But when you pull back and you give yourself time for self-care,
Just like what you're doing right now,
When you gather the strength through rest,
Eating healthy foods,
Immersing yourself in outside activities,
Being in nature,
When you take good care of yourself and you rest up,
You gain the strength,
The clarity and the wisdom.
And you will notice that while you've been busy taking care of yourself,
That obstacle has moved on.
And now you've got the strength to not push through the obstacle but rather flow around it.
Take a step back.
Take care of yourself.
Build up strength.
And then things will naturally flow.
Let's take a deep breath here and exhale slowly.
Focus on the body stretched out long.
You're lying on your back and your eyes might be closed if you feel comfortable with that.
Feel yourself being held comforted in this now moment,
So good.
As you inhale,
Holding your breath,
Tensing all the muscles in your thigh,
Right thigh,
Right knee,
Lower leg,
Tensing up your foot.
Exhale at that leg and foot go.
Big now into the left leg,
Squeeze thigh,
Knee,
Lower leg,
Left foot so tightly.
Exhale let it go.
Breathe in,
Pull up on the perineum and clench your buttocks and let go.
Breathe into your abdomen and swell it into a big beautiful balloon,
Big,
Big,
Big,
Big,
Big,
Big breath.
Open the mouth,
Let go.
Feel with each exhale all the stress,
Frustration,
Anxiety just melting off of your body,
Slipping away,
Rolling away.
Breathe back into the abdomen,
Lift the breath to the chest all the way up to the collarbone,
Sipping in as much air as you can.
Open the mouth,
Let it go.
Stretch hands wide and breathe your hands into fists,
Squeeze into the muscles of your arms tightly,
Tightly,
Tightly and let it go.
Breathe in as you shrug shoulders up,
Exhale as you push your shoulders down.
Inhale,
Wrap your arms around yourself,
Give yourself a quick hug,
Let it go.
Feel yourself bathed in love.
You can even imagine what color this love blanket is that's wrapped around you right now.
You can feel it glowing,
Soft and warm.
Let your head move side to side.
I'm letting all my worries go,
I'm letting all my worries go.
I am so in this now moment,
Everything is okay.
I am okay.
Let your jaw wiggle side to side.
Take out your tongue,
Roll eyes up towards your third eye,
Make a hissing sound.
Fold your mouth back up,
Inhale,
Pursing your lips and exhale,
Let the mouth go.
Now breathe into the whole face,
Squeeze forehead,
Eyes,
Nose,
Mouth tightly,
Tightly,
Tightly,
Pruning your face and exhale,
Let it all go.
Feel now a cool wave of deep relaxation washing over your body and see yourself in this bubble of love giving you strength,
Courage,
Vision,
Clarity,
All the obstacles,
Challenges,
Stresses and anxieties,
All those pebbles blocking the flow of your day,
Of your life,
Of yourself,
Slowly melting away so that in this now moment you feel clear and refreshed.
Take a deep breath in and exhale slowly.
Take a deep breath in and exhale slowly.
This is an original poem from my book Musings from the Mat.
Be gentle,
Be kind.
Life travels us along enough rough roads,
Like the rock breaking the stream,
Forcing the water to change course.
What obstructs you?
What is said,
There is no passage here.
Are you on a detour?
Have you lost your way or reclaimed your own path?
Be tempered,
Be humble,
Let time tumble you,
Smooth you like a pebble.
So many pebbles rubbed so very small,
Like a beach of countless grains,
Seemingly insignificant.
Have you found your place?
Have you felt the impact of your purpose?
Are you just wandering or has gratitude reminded you to step into your light?
For no one is any less than.
Look at the sky.
So many stars.
Have you found your place?
Have you felt the impact of your purpose?
Are you just wandering or has gratitude reminded you to step into your light?
For no one is any less than.
Look at the sky.
So many stars.
Let's take a deep breath in.
Exhale slowly.
Notice how relaxed and still your feet are.
Notice the weight of your legs,
The curve of your spine,
And how all the muscles in your back have relaxed.
Notice the rise and fall of your abdomen as you breathe in and breathe out.
Feel the fullness of breath in your lungs,
How relaxed your shoulders are,
Your arms,
Hands and fingers.
Notice that your throat is soft and relaxed.
Your jaw is unclenched.
Your mouth and tongue are soft.
Feel your skin of your face relaxed.
Your eyes closed immerses your eyes in a soothing darkness.
Notice now yourself witnessing the self.
Just feeling the natural rhythm of your breath.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Long,
Slow breaths.
Letting everything go.
Take time to gather your strength,
To recognize the power and wisdom in not reacting,
Not communicating,
Not even letting these narratives consume your thoughts.
Pause here.
Pull back.
Rest.
It is not selfish for you to take time for self-care.
Rather,
It is tremendous wisdom to do so.
Notice your body feeling lighter and lighter with each exhale.
All the stress you've been carrying,
All the anxiety,
Worry,
The burden of this weight that you've been carrying.
It feels so good to set it down.
Set it down.
Deep breath in.
Exhale slowly.
This is a yogic prayer,
Ancient,
Thousands of years old for world peace,
Healing.
And I offer this for your benefit.
That you may feel this blessing deep within your own heart.
Pray us,
Satsang,
In theight of our Garden,
Pashtivarunam,
Uvarukamiva Vandanam,
Rityamoksha,
Mamritat,
Om,
Shanti,
Shanti,
Vandanam,
Rityamoksha,
Mamritat,
Om,
Shanti,
Shanti,
Shanti,
Om,
Loka,
Samastah,
Sukina,
Bhavanthu,
May the entire universe be filled with peace and joy,
Love and light.
And may the light of truth overcome all darkness,
Victory to that light,
Jai Sri Sarguru Maharaj ki Jai Jai Jai.
Bathe in the light of love.
Bathe in the light of love.
In this now moment,
You are okay.
And everything is okay.
Thank you so much.
Be well.
