Hello friend.
Thank you so much for being here.
For choosing to take a little time out of your busy day to sit in stillness with me and with yourself.
Make your way into a comfortable position,
Seated or lying down.
It's your choice.
And just take a moment here to settle in.
Finding a place to rest.
A place where your body can feel at ease.
For these next few minutes together,
There is nothing you need to do.
Nothing to remember or accomplish.
Any worries or responsibilities can be placed to the side,
Just for now.
As we practice being present.
Feel free to close your eyes if you'd like.
And invite your awareness to begin to travel inward.
Taking a moment to notice how you feel.
Right here,
Right now.
Just observing things as they are in this moment.
Feeling your body on the earth.
Observing your breath.
Flowing in.
Flowing out.
Allowing that breath to move through you.
Inspiring your body to release and relax.
With each passing inhale,
We create space.
And each passing exhale,
Your body grows heavier.
And feel your body melting deeper into the earth.
Feel your body soften like ice melting into water.
Surrendering.
Allowing yourself to be held by the earth beneath you.
We hold ourselves up all day long.
Right here and now,
You have the space to soften into a place of ease.
Of stillness.
Your thoughts are flowing in and out of awareness.
They're like clouds passing in the sky.
You notice them,
But they don't hold your attention.
Your breath.
Your breath brings you back to presence.
Moment after moment.
Inhale after exhale.
Your body is soft.
Your face is relaxed.
Your heart is at peace.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
You are here.
Right here.
Right now.
In this moment.
It's just you and your breath.
You and your beautiful body.
Held by the earth.
Resting.
Noticing.
Doing nothing except being you.
When despair for the world grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be.
I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief.
I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day blind stars waiting with their light.
For a time,
I rest in the grace of the world,
And I'm free.
The Peace of Wild Things by Wendell Berry.
As you're ready,
Slowly bring your hands to rest on your heart or your belly.
Feeling the warmth and the connection of your hands on your body.
Feeling a sense of gratitude to yourself for showing up.
For gifting this time and this presence to yourself.
You have the power to create little pockets of ease throughout your day.
Your breath is always with you.
And you always have the support of the earth beneath you.
I am so honored that you have chosen me to guide you and to be still with you today.
Let's take one final deep breath in together.
And exhale,
Let it all go.
Until next time,
My love.
Take care.
