Welcome to your sleep meditation.
We are about to take a beautiful journey together.
But first we need to snuggle down into our beds and close our eyes.
We'll make sure we're really warm and that our heads are on the pillow and we feel safe and happy.
Feel the softness of the mattress under your body and imagine that you are sinking into the mattress.
You are so comfortable.
You are safe.
You are warm.
You are loved.
I want you to concentrate on your breath.
Notice how it enters your body and notice that it leaves.
Notice the spaces between your breath.
You're not breathing in.
You're not breathing out.
I want you to count backwards from five in your head.
Say to yourself,
I am breathing in five.
I am breathing out five.
I am breathing in four.
I am breathing out four.
I am breathing in three.
I am breathing out three.
I am breathing in two.
I am breathing out two.
I am breathing in one.
I am breathing out one.
Take another couple of big deep breaths.
Make your stomach into a big balloon.
Fill it up with air and then sigh it out.
Again,
Big deep breath.
Fill up that belly and then sigh it out.
Now we can repeat a mantra.
Something you can say to yourself to make sure that you will have the best,
Deep sleep.
The mantra is om shanti.
