Open to love.
A heart chakra meditation.
There is a space within you that has held every expression of love you have ever known.
The love you have given.
The love you have received.
The love you have lost.
And perhaps even the love you are still learning to give yourself.
Today we are going to spend a few quiet moments in that space,
Your heart.
Allow yourself to settle in however your body feels most supported.
And instead of trying to immediately become still,
Simply notice yourself arriving.
Notice the weight of your body.
Notice the sounds around you.
Notice the natural rhythm of your breath without needing to change it.
Now gently bring your awareness toward the center of your chest.
If it feels comfortable,
Place one hand over your heart.
Feel the warmth of your palm against your body.
Feel the subtle movement beneath your hand as you breathe.
And silently offer yourself this invitation.
For these next few moments,
I am willing to meet myself with love.
Take a slow breath in.
And as you release it,
Allow the muscles around your chest,
Shoulders,
And jaw to soften.
You don't need to force your heart open.
You don't need to manufacture a feeling of love.
Simply become curious about what is already here.
Now imagine a soft,
Green light.
Beginning to glow within the center of your chest.
The energy of your heart chakra.
Anahata.
Imagine this light beginning as a small,
Gentle glow.
With each breath,
Allow it to become warmer,
Brighter,
And more expansive.
As you inhale,
Imagine breathing directly into your heart.
And as you exhale,
Imagine creating just a little more space within.
You may notice emotions beginning to rise.
Perhaps love,
Perhaps gratitude,
Perhaps sadness,
Grief,
Disappointment,
Or something you can't quite name.
Whatever is present,
Allow it to be here.
Your heart does not need to feel a certain way for this meditation to work.
There's room for all of you here.
Take another gentle breath into your heart.
And as you exhale,
Imagine releasing some of what has become too heavy to carry.
Old disappointments,
Resentment,
Grief.
The pain of relationships that didn't become what you hoped they would be.
The times you gave too much,
The times you accepted too little,
And the times you forgot that you were worthy of the same love you so freely offered to others.
You don't have to release everything today.
Healing doesn't require you to rush.
Simply allow yourself to loosen your grip on whatever you are ready to put down.
Bring your awareness back to the green light within your chest.
See it expanding beyond your heart,
Through your shoulders,
Down your arms,
Into the palms of your hands.
Imagine yourself surrounded by this gentle energy of compassion and love.
And now allow these words to settle into your heart.
You may repeat these silently after me.
I am worthy of love exactly as I am.
I allow myself to give and receive love freely.
I release the belief that love must be earned.
I forgive myself for the ways I have abandoned my own needs.
It is safe for me to love and still have boundaries.
I honor the wisdom of my heart.
I am open to relationships that honor,
Nourish,
And respect me.
Love flows to me,
Through me,
And from me.
Now place both your hands over your heart if that feels comfortable.
Feel your own presence beneath your hands,
Your heartbeat,
Your breath,
Your life.
And recognize that the love you offer so easily to others is also available to you.
You are deserving of your own tenderness,
Your own patience,
Your own forgiveness,
Your own compassion.
Imagine the green light around your heart becoming even brighter now.
Let it hold every version of you.
The version who knew exactly what to do,
And the version who didn't.
The version who loved deeply,
The version whose heart was broken,
And the version who found the courage to begin again.
There's room in your heart for your entire journey.
Take a slow,
Nourishing breath in.
And as you exhale,
Receive this truth.
Your heart does not have to be perfect to be whole.
Your heart is allowed to heal.
Your heart is allowed to soften.
Your heart is allowed to have boundaries.
Your heart is allowed to trust again.
And your heart is allowed to remain open to all the beautiful ways love may find you.
Take one final breath into the center of your chest.
Breathe in love.
Breathe in compassion.
Breathe in peace.
And slowly exhale.
Begin bringing your awareness back to the space around you.
Notice your body.
Notice the surface supporting you.
Allow small movements to return to your fingers and toes.
And before opening your eyes,
Offer yourself one final reminder.
The love I seek also lives within me.
Carry that knowing with you into your relationships,
Into your choices,
And most importantly,
Into the relationship you have with yourself.
When you feel ready.
Gently open your eyes.
And return to your day with an open heart.
