My name is Natalie and I am so happy you are here right now.
This is a meditation if you feel uncertain or if you're overthinking right now.
Remember that you don't have to know it yet.
So let's arrive here in this space,
In the here and now.
Find a comfortable position.
You can sit or lie down and allow your body to settle into whatever is supporting you.
And for a moment,
Trust that you don't have to do anything.
You don't have to solve anything.
You don't have to make a decision.
You don't have to figure out what comes next.
Just be here.
And now allow yourself to take a slow,
Gentle breath in.
And exhale slowly.
And again,
Breathing in.
And exhale to let it all go.
And notice the surface underneath you.
Feel the weights of your body being held.
You don't have to hold yourself up quite so much right now.
Let yourself be supported.
And if you chose this meditation or if this meditation found you Perhaps there is something in your life right now that you have been thinking about a lot.
Something you are trying to understand.
A decision you are trying to make.
A change you are considering.
Maybe regarding a relationship.
A career.
A move.
A new direction.
Are simply the question of what comes next.
And maybe you keep going over the same questions in your mind.
What should I do?
What if I make the wrong choice?
What if I wait too long?
What if I choose this and later wish I had chosen something else?
And perhaps you have been trying to think your way into certainty.
Trying to find the perfect answer.
Trying to know what your future will look like before you take the next step.
And if this sounds like you.
.
.
Know that there is nothing wrong with you.
Your mind is simply trying to protect you.
It believes that if it can think far enough ahead,
Plan carefully enough.
And consider every possible outcome,
You will be safe.
So instead of fighting your mind,
See if you can thank it.
And silently say.
Thank you for trying to protect me.
And then gently remind yourself.
I don't have to solve this right now.
Let those words land.
I don't have to solve this right now.
There is a difference between needing an answer and needing relief from uncertainty.
Let me say this again.
There is a difference between needing an answer and needing relief from uncertainty.
You see,
Sometimes we don't actually need to know what to do.
We simply need a moment of rest from trying to know.
So for the next few minutes,
You don't have to find an answer.
You are allowed to pause.
You're allowed not to know.
And take a slow breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Imagine putting down the question you have been carrying.
You are not throwing it away.
You are not ignoring it.
You are simply putting it down.
For now.
Perhaps you can imagine placing it on a table.
Are on the ground beside you.
You can come back to it later,
But right now you don't need to carry it.
Breathe.
And let yourself be here.
You don't have to know yet.
You don't have to know yet.
You don't have to know yet.
Notice what happens inside your body when you stop demanding an answer from yourself.
Perhaps your shoulders soften.
Perhaps your jaw relaxes.
Perhaps your breath becomes a little deeper.
Or perhaps nothing changes.
And that's okay too.
There is nothing you need to force.
And now bring your attention gently to your heart.
Not to what your mind thinks you should want.
But to what you quietly long for.
And ask yourself.
What am I really longing for?
Nuts?
What should I choose?
Not,
What would be the smartest decision?
Not what will everyone else think?
Just what am I longing for?
What is my soul desire?
And don't search for a big answer.
Maybe what comes up is freedom.
Maybe it's rest?
Maybe it's connection.
Maybe it's adventure.
Maybe it's stability.
Maybe it's creativity.
Maybe it's simply peace.
And let whatever come,
Come.
And if nothing comes,
That's okay.
You don't have to manufacture clarity.
Sometimes clarity arrives when we stop chasing it.
And take another slow breath.
And remember.
You are allowed to change your mind.
You are allowed to take your time.
You are allowed to discover that what you wanted six months ago is no longer what you want today.
And you are allowed to discover that something you once doubted is actually right for you.
You don't have to make your future self's decisions today.
Your future self will have information,
Experiences,
Feelings and perspectives that you simply don't have yet.
You can trust that version of you to meet the future when it arrives.
But for now,
Your only task is to live the life that is here now.
Today.
This spreads.
This moment.
This body.
This room and feel the ground underneath you.
Feel your breath moving naturally.
And notice the sounds around you.
And gently come back.
To the present.
There is so much life happening here while your mind is busy imagining a life somewhere else.
So come back.
Come back to today.
You don't have to live next year today.
You don't have to solve next month,
Today.
You only have to be here.
Perhaps you can repeat these words silently to yourself.
I don't have to know yet.
I don't have to know yet.
I can let things unfold.
I can let things unfold.
I can take my time.
I can take my time.
I trust myself to recognize what is right when the time comes.
I trust myself to recognize what is right when the time comes.
I can live fully while some questions remain unanswered.
I can live fully while some questions remain unanswered.
I choose presence over prediction.
I choose presence over predictions.
And take a deep breath in.
And slowly breathe out.
And now imagine that the question you placed down earlier is still there.
But perhaps it feels a little lighter now.
You haven't solved it?
And you don't need to.
You have simply stopped carrying it for a moment.
Maybe that is enough.
And one final time,
Breathe in slowly.
And exhale completely.
And when you are ready,
Begin to notice your body again.
The surface underneath you.
The room around you.
The temperature of the air on your skin.
And perhaps gently move your fingers and your toes.
Maybe your eyes are still closed and if that's the case you can gently open your eyes.
And take this with you.
You don't have to know yet.
You don't have to rush clarity.
And you don't have to have your whole future figured out.
To be okay in this moment.
You are here.
And for today,
That is enough.
Thank you so much for meditating with me today.
And remember you can always come back to these words if you need a break from your overthinking mind.
Until the next time,
Namaste.
