Welcome,
My name is Natalie and this is a guided meditation for overthinking,
Uncertainty and letting go.
Find a comfortable position,
Whether this is lying down or sitting down.
Take a moment to arrive.
Soften your gaze or close your eyes.
And inhale through the nose.
And exhale to the mouth And once more,
Inhale.
And exhale.
Maybe you've been trying to find an answer.
Going over the conversation.
Replaying what happened,
Wondering what they meant,
Thinking about what you should have said,
Trying to predict what comes next,
Trying to make sense of something that doesn't quite make sense yet.
Maybe you've been asking yourself,
What should I do?
What does this mean?
What if?
What if?
What if?
And maybe your mind has been working very hard to give you an answer.
So right now,
Just for these next few moments.
I want to give you permission to stop.
You don't have to figure it out.
You don't have to make a decision.
You don't have to know what happens next.
You don't have to have the answer today.
You can simply be here.
Notice just for this moment that there is nothing you need to solve.
Nothing you need to fix.
Nothing you need to decide.
Just breathe.
Now bring to mind whatever it is that brought you to this meditation.
Whatever it is that your mind keeps returning to.
You don't need to go deeply into it,
Just notice it being there.
Perhaps it's a decision.
Perhaps it's a relationship.
Perhaps it's something that happened.
Perhaps it's something you're waiting for.
Perhaps it's a future you cannot predict.
And notice how your mind tries to move ahead.
To find the ending,
To find certainty.
To make everything make sense.
And instead of following those thoughts,
Just say quietly to yourself.
I don't have to know it yet.
I don't have to know it yet.
I don't have to know it yet.
And notice what happens.
Maybe there is a little relief.
Maybe there is still resistance.
Maybe emotions come up.
Maybe your mind immediately says,
But I need to know.
Whatever it is,
It's okay.
You don't have to fight your mind.
You don't have to make yourself stop thinking.
Simply notice.
And come back to your breath.
Now bring your awareness into your body.
Rather than asking yourself,
What do I think about this?
Ask yourself,
What do I feel?
And notice your chest.
Your belly.
Your throat.
Your shoulders.
Is there tightness?
Warm.
Heaviness.
Movement.
Nothing in particular.
There is no right answer here.
You're simply sensing,
Scanning your body.
Because sometimes,
When we don't know what to think,
Our body knows what it needs before our minds has found the words.
So instead of searching for an answer,
Listen.
And breathe.
Imagine now that all the questions you've been carrying are written on a small piece of paper.
Every what if.
Every should I.
Every,
Why did this happen?
Every attempt to predict the future.
And imagine placing all of those pieces of paper into a beautiful ball in front of you,
One by one.
You don't need to throw them away.
You don't need to solve them.
You're simply putting them down.
One question.
And another and another.
Go on until there is a little more space inside you.
And look at that bowl.
All those questions can remain there.
They don't need your attention right now.
You can come back to them later.
If and when you need to.
But right now,
You are allowed to rest.
And take another slow breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Imagine releasing the need for certainty.
Not certainty itself,
Just the need to have it immediately.
Because here is the difference.
You may want clarity without demanding that it arrives today.
You can care deeply without needing to control the outcome.
You can love someone without knowing exactly where the relationship is going.
You can be at a crossroads without knowing which road you will take.
You can be in the middle of something without knowing how the story ends.
And that is okay.
Now imagine yourself standing at the edge of a pot.
You can only see a short distance ahead.
The rest of the pot disappears into the distance.
You cannot see the whole journey.
And maybe your mind wants a map.
It wants to know exactly where the path goes,
Where it ends,
What will happen around the next corner.
But perhaps you don't need the whole map.
Perhaps you only need to see the next few steps.
One breath.
One day.
On choice.
One conversation.
One small step and then another.
Let yourself feel what it is like not to know everything and still trust that you can meet whatever comes your way.
You will hear some affirmations and silently repeat those that speak to you the most.
I don't have to know it yet.
I don't have to know it yet.
I trust that clarity will come when I am ready to receive it.
I trust that clarity will come and I'm ready to receive it.
I can be uncertain and still be okay.
I can be uncertain and still be okay.
I release the need to control the outcome.
I release the need to control the outcome.
I trust myself to take the next step when the time comes.
I trust myself to take the next step when the time comes.
I trust myself.
I trust myself.
And let those words settle.
Allow those intentions to become a possibility.
And now take a deeper breath.
And slowly exhale.
Feel your body again.
Feel your hands,
Your feet,
Your shoulders,
Your face and notice the space around you.
If you're lying down,
I want to invite you to roll over to your right side.
And gently pushing yourself up into a seated meditative position.
Try to remain with your eyes closed.
And remember,
You don't have to know what happens next.
You don't have to know everything right now and how everything will unfold.
You don't have to solve your entire life today.
You only need to be here.
In this breath.
In this moment.
And perhaps when you leave this meditation,
Nothing outside of you will have changed.
The situation may still be uncertain.
The question may still be unanswered.
But perhaps something inside you has softened.
And perhaps that is enough for today.
You can let tomorrow bring tomorrow's answers.
But for now.
.
.
Come back to yourself.
Take one final slow breath in.
And let everything go.
And when you are ready,
Gently open your eyes.
And carry this with you.
You don't need to know the whole parts.
You only need to be here for this moment.
Thank you so much for taking those few moments with me.
And whenever you find yourself caught in the need to know,
The need to decide,
The need to control,
Remember that you can pause,
You can breathe and say,
I don't have to know yet.
Sometimes clarity doesn't come from thinking harder.
Sometimes it arrives when we finally give ourselves enough space to hear it.
So take care of yourself and trust that you can meet the next moment when it arrives.
Until the next time,
Namaste.
