Welcome to week one of the radiant and unapologetic meditation series.
This meditation is called coming home to self.
Take this time to return inward to your breath and your inner presence.
Find a comfortable position sitting or lying down.
Allow your eyes to close if it feels safe.
Let your body settle.
Let the outside world soften.
Begin by noticing your breath.
Without trying to change it,
Just observe.
The gentle rise and fall of your chest.
The steady rhythm of life moving through you.
Now slowly deepen your breath.
Inhale through your nose,
Expanding your belly.
Exhale through your mouth,
Releasing any tension.
With each breath,
Let yourself arrive more fully here.
Relax your shoulders.
Soften your jaw.
Feel the weight of your body supported by the earth beneath you.
Imagine your breath as an anchor,
Drawing you back into yourself.
With each inhale,
Say silently,
I come home.
With each exhale,
I am safe in myself.
Picture a warm light glowing at the centre of your chest.
As you breathe,
The light grows brighter,
Spreading through your body,
Filling you with calm and grounding.
Notice that no matter what happens in the outer world,
This inner home is always here.
Your breath.
Your body.
Your being.
You are whole.
You are safe.
You are enough.
Take a moment to rest in this inner home.
Feel the safety,
The warmth,
The trust within yourself.
When your mind drifts,
Gently return to the mantra,
I am safe in myself.
I come home with every breath.
Begin to bring your awareness back to the room around you.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Roll your shoulders gently.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Carry this sense of self-trust and grounding with you into the rest of your day.
And if you'd like,
Take a few minutes to journal on the prompt,
Who am I when no one is watching?
Who am I when no one is watching?
