Welcome,
Friends.
This meditation explores the financial worries and uncertainty that can arise as we approach or enter retirement.
Through mindful breathing,
Reflection,
And a simple mantra.
We shift our focus.
From worry and self-doubt toward confidence,
Trust.
And the wisdom we've gained through our life's experiences.
As we get older and approach retirement,
Many of us begin to experience stress and anxiety about finances.
Studies have shown that financial concerns are common among retirees and those approaching retirement.
Many worry about whether their savings will last.
Especially as the cost of living rises.
And others feel anxious when the stock market drops.
And they see their retirement accounts affected.
Yoga and meditation encourage us to loosen our attachment to material things and to recognize that happiness isn't found in possessions alone,
But It's also perfectly human.
To worry about having enough.
To feed.
Owls.
And clothe ourselves.
The desire for security.
Is a basic human instinct.
Even if we spent years planning and saving for retirement.
There can still be anxiety when we lose the comfort of a steady paycheck.
And begin relying on the resources that we put aside.
So how can we use meditation and mindfulness to soften some of the stress and anxiety?
Meditation can't eliminate financial concerns or make decisions for us.
But it can help us change the way we respond to uncertainty.
It can bring us back to the present moment.
Where we can think more clearly and respond with greater calm rather than worry or fear.
Perhaps we can begin to replace some of that worry.
With self-confidence.
Take a moment and remember a time in your life when you faced a challenge or uncertainty.
Perhaps you didn't know exactly how things would work out,
And yet somehow you found your way through.
Throughout our lives.
We're always learning and growing.
We develop new skills.
We learn how to navigate relationships,
Careers.
Families,
And unexpected changes,
And we can continue learning.
When it comes to managing our finances as well.
We don't have to know everything.
We simply need.
To trust ourselves.
To learn,
To ask questions.
To seek guidance when needed,
And to make the best decisions we can with the information we have.
Confidence doesn't mean having all the answers.
Confidence means trusting that we have the ability to face whatever comes.
So today.
Let's practice releasing that financial self-doubt,
Stress,
Or anxiety.
And making space for confidence.
If you haven't already done so.
Take a comfortable seat.
Allow your hands.
To rest gently on your legs or perhaps in your lap.
If it feels okay to do so.
Go ahead and close your eyes.
Or lower your gaze.
Take a deep breath in.
And exhale,
Let it go.
Just breathing deeply can help release stress and tension.
Not only in the mind,
But also in the body.
Let's take one more deep breath in.
And exhale.
And allow your breath.
To return to its natural rhythm.
For this moment.
Simply allow yourself to be here.
Just breathing.
With each breath.
Release a little of the fear.
The anxiety.
With each exhale.
Let go of self-doubt and worry.
And with each inhale,
Invite in confidence.
Trust.
In the wisdom you've gained over the years.
Inhale.
And exhale.
And now.
Let's begin to repeat the following mantra.
Either softly or silently.
I release my worry.
And replace it.
With confidence.
I release my worry.
And replace it with confidence.
I release my worry.
And replace it with confidence.
Continue with this mantra.
For the next few moments.
Until you hear.
The sound of a bell.
Friends,
It's time to release the mantra.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in.
And exhale,
Let it go.
Whenever you're ready.
Go ahead and.
.
.
Lift your gaze or open your eyes.
Returning to the space around you.
I release my worry.
And replace it with confidence.
Namaste.
