The story of the man and the horse.

Many hundreds of years ago,

There was a man who owned a beautiful and majestic looking horse.

This horse gave him his livelihood and also made him very famous.

The neighbors were envious of him and said to him,

You are so lucky.

The man's response was,

Maybe.

A few years later,

The horse broke out of its stables and ran away.

The man lost his livelihood and his fame.

The neighbors came up to him and said,

You are so unlucky.

The man's response was,

Maybe.

Another two years went by and one day the horse came running back.

This time,

It came running back with another ten horses.

The man regained his livelihood,

Regained his fame,

And was more wealthy than he had ever been.

The neighbors came up to him and said,

You are so lucky.

The man's response was,

Maybe.

A year later,

When the man's son was training one of the new horses,

He fell off the horse and broke his leg.

The son suffered severe injuries and was unable to walk,

Causing many difficulties and problems for the family.

The neighbors came up to the man and said,

You are so unlucky.

The man's response was,

Maybe.

Another eighteen months went past and the army came by that was recruiting all young men to go fight in a war a thousand miles away.

Due to the fact that the son had broken his leg,

He was unable to join the army.

The neighbors came up to the man and said,

You are so lucky.

And the man's response was,

Maybe.
