So often we can remember instantly, a list of all the ways the world has hurt us and where we may have hurt others...but when asked to remember all of the good, we go blank. Use this as a guide to remember that life can be good and we can do more than survive.

I want you to count how many times you've lived through or witnessed the hard things.

I'll give you a moment.

Anytime you felt slighted,

Betrayed,

Resentful,

Jealous,

Frustrated.

When you've cried in the shower,

Slammed door,

Felt utterly helpless.

Now,

Think of all the times when life has worked out in any way,

Big or small.

You got that job,

Had that kiss,

Got asked out on a date,

Won an award,

Nailed that assignment,

Got that acceptance letter.

Think of each and every one of those beautiful moments.

You see,

We can so often and so easily pull the mental rolodex of all the times that life hasn't treated us well in some way.

We can remember the most minute detail,

And then it compounds,

And then it snowballs,

And then we feel hopeless,

Helpless,

Deflated.

We hold on to that and next you're laying awake at 2am mouthing,

Why did I say that?

Why did that happen?

You see,

We were born to survive,

And to survive means to see where in life the stove was hot to touch.

Because if we can recall every moment that didn't serve us,

Then our brain says,

Yes,

You get to live another day.

And that's all well and good.

We need to live,

We need to survive.

But that just keeps the body surviving.

Surviving,

Not living.

Living is feeling the world and seeing it in full colour.

It's the deep belly laughter with friends,

It's slow dancing in the kitchen,

It's a flirtatious glance across the room,

A whine between lovers.

A moment to yourself in the park eating an ice cream.

Do you remember all of those moments where life was splendid?

In some way?

In some small detail?

Most of us don't,

And we need to.

We need to remember that life is good to us.

In the small moments,

And the big ones.

Because my love,

It's in recalling these beautiful moments that actually keep us surviving.

It reminds us that there is good,

That we are loved,

We are beautiful,

We are wanted and needed and supported.

That there is love,

That there is love,

That there is love,

That there is love,

And that there is love.

It's a stronger Zealot enough thatane love,

That doesn't hurt you.

Any experience,

Wh ticket,

That things do work out even if right now things hurt,

Things are hard,

Things feel never-ending.

I have been witnessed,

Too,

And felt incredible grief and heartache.

Many have.

Many,

Many have.

And to pull ourselves from the depths of despair can be hard,

But my love,

I promise it is possible.

It is so incredibly possible.

You just have to keep going.

The universe truly will support you.

It needs you to live,

Not just survive.

But it's important to do both.

Keep going.

And remember the good times.

They're there.

Thank you for watching!
