Allow everything to be just the way it is.
Allow everything to happen just the way it is happening.
If you are feeling a certain way,
If you are thinking a certain way,
Let it be.
Today's meditation is neither about fleeing nor about fighting.
No fight,
No flight.
Just letting it be without interfering,
Without effort,
Without struggle.
Willingly,
Voluntarily,
Happily give the permission for yourself to be free and everything else to be free as per its own wish.
This also means that we don't negotiate with what is happening in our mind.
We don't believe it,
We don't fight it,
We don't push it away.
Have the courage to see something and not do anything about it.
Withdraw your participation for the next 20-30 minutes.
Just like you withdraw your participation when you fall asleep at night,
Willingly withdraw participation.
Just like that,
I invite you to withdraw your participation from the world,
From the mind,
From the body.
If there is restlessness due to withdrawal,
Let that restlessness do its thing.
Don't push it.
It might be uncomfortable but I'm sure you can endure it.
I'm sure you can endure it without wincing,
Without struggling,
Without disciplining.
We don't need to have an opinion about everything.
We don't need to label everything.
And we don't need to be interested in everything either.
I'm inviting you to be in this twilight zone where you are withdrawing but you are not falling asleep.
What we do at night is withdraw and drift into sleep.
But this is a special exploration where we are awake,
Disinterested,
Withdrawn.
The only way to rest is when nothing is important.
When our mind has claimed that this thing is important,
Especially thinking about that thing,
Rest doesn't happen.
Deep rest doesn't happen.
And the charm about this kind of exploration during the day is to familiarize ourselves with this option and then to withdraw our participation in the middle of the day.
Just to understand that we have the freedom.
There is no end to doing.
There is no end to thinking about doing.
So this exploration is an experiential stamp on the understanding that I'm not a machine,
Tackles the unnoticed claim that I have to think all the time,
I have to do all the time.
And somehow the mind values thinking about doing more than doing.
Not only we incessantly think about doing,
We incessantly think about what is happening.
We participate with opinions,
Categorizations,
Labels,
Disapprovals,
Approvals about what has happened and what is happening.
This obsession of having something to say about whatever is happening is unnecessary.
Let others including nature and events and people have the freedom to be the way they have to.
Let go of that sense of control completely.
In letting go is the freedom,
Is a dip,
A deep dive in freedom.
It's just like the bodily processes inside us where digestion is happening on its own.
Blood circulation,
Heart pumping is happening on its own.
As long as you are doing your part,
As long as you are participating with the right inputs of the food,
Of the exercise,
Of the environment,
The processes are working healthily.
Same could be true about our external experience.
If we participated with intention,
With health,
The rest of the process should take care of itself.
Can you imagine trying to interfere with our digestive system constantly?
We would be more constipated than ever.
That's how we are actually.
We have become emotionally and mentally constipated because of our constant,
Incessant participation mentally and emotionally outside.
When we embrace the humbling of the mind,
That is a sign of wisdom.
When we stop controlling or when we stop the idea of controlling everything,
We recognize that everything was happening on its own anyways.
Whatever needs to happen through you,
Needs to happen through you.
That's our participation.
Every time you find yourself deep in the guts of thinking about doing,
Let my words guide you back into this twilight zone of wakeful withdrawal,
Wakeful non-participation,
Indifference through wisdom.
Let all doing and thinking about doing come to rest,
Those urges come to rest in this twilight zone.
Let your mind and body rest in this twilight zone.
Let your nervous system relax.
Rest cannot be forced.
It's a happening and let it happen.
Harmony cannot be forced.
It's a result of understanding and wisdom.
Peace is not an outcome of struggle.
Rest is not an outcome of struggle.
Recognize this.
Let this recognition precipitate into understanding.
Struggle is a result of our participation.
It's a sign of our desire for struggle.
We don't have to struggle.
Struggling outside and struggling inside are two separate struggles.
The internal struggle is optional.
Thank you.
