Welcome to this practice,
The inner river of truth.
This is a meditation for softening the noise of the mind.
Attuning to the wisdom of the body.
And listening for the quiet current of truth within you.
I invite you to find a comfortable position.
That may be seated.
Lying down.
Or resting in any shape that allows your body to feel supported.
Let your hands rest somewhere natural.
Perhaps your thighs.
Maybe over your heart.
Maybe one hand on your belly and one hand on your chest.
Let your eyes close if that feels comfortable.
Or soften your gaze toward one steady point.
Let's take a slow breath in.
And let it out.
Again,
Inhale gently.
Exhale completely.
Allow your body to begin arriving here.
Not perfectly.
Not all at once,
Just enough to begin.
Let the weight of your body be held.
Feel the ground beneath you.
The chair beneath you,
The mat beneath you.
The earth beneath all of that.
There's nowhere else you need to be in this moment.
Nothing you need to solve.
Nothing you need to prove.
This is a space for listening.
A space.
For returning.
A space for remembering the truth.
Beneath the noise.
Take another slow breath in.
And as you exhale,
Soften your jaw.
Let your tongue rest gently in your mouth.
Relax the space between your eyebrows.
Let your shoulders soften away from your ears.
Let your belly feel unforced.
Let your breath move in a way that feels natural.
You do not need to control it.
Just notice.
Notice the inhale.
Notice the exhale.
Notice where your body receives the breath most easily.
Maybe the chest.
Maybe the ribs.
Maybe the belly.
Maybe the back body.
Wherever the breath is moving.
Let that be enough.
Now bring your awareness to the sounds around you.
Notice any sounds close by.
Sounds in the room.
Sounds outside the room.
Maybe there's silence.
Maybe there's movement.
Maybe there are voices,
Birds.
Traffic.
Or the hum of life happening around you.
You do not need to push any of it away.
Let sound.
Be sound.
Let the world hear.
Be the world.
And imagine that beneath all outer sound.
There's a quieter sound.
Within you.
A subtle current.
A river beneath the surface.
This.
As the inner river of truth.
It does not need to shout.
It does not need to compete.
It simply flows.
Steady.
Clear.
.
.
Present.
Saraswati,
Goddess of Wisdom.
Language.
Music.
And sacred flow.
Is often connected with this river.
The River of Inspiration.
The river of truth.
The river of expression.
But before expression becomes words.
It begins as listening.
Before the song is sung.
There is silence.
Before the truth is spoken.
There is inner knowing.
Before the river moves freely.
It must be felt.
So for now,
You do not need to say anything.
You do not need to know exactly what comes next.
You are simply here to listen.
And bring your awareness now to the base of your body.
Your hips.
Pelvis,
Your legs,
Your feet.
Feel the lower body becoming heavy.
And support it.
Imagine roots gently extending from your body down into the earth.
Not gripping,
Not forcing,
Just connecting.
Let your body know.
I am here.
I am supported.
I am safe enough to listen.
Take a breath into the lower body.
And release.
Now bring your awareness into your belly.
The soft center of instinct,
Feeling,
And inner response.
Notice what is present here.
No need to analyze.
Just sense.
Is there ease?
Tightness.
Warmth.
Movement.
Numbness.
Fluttering?
Stillness.
Whatever you notice,
Let it be welcomed.
Your body does not need to perform calm.
It only needs to be included.
Place a gentle inner listening at the belly.
And silently ask.
What am I feeling?
Beneath the surface.
Let the question ripple through you.
Like a stone dropped into water.
There is no need to search for an answer.
Simply listen.
What am I feeling beneath the surface?
Take a slow breath in.
And let it out.
Now bring your awareness to your heart,
The space of tenderness,
Longing.
Connection.
Grief.
Love.
Devotion.
And inner truth.
Let the breath move gently around your heart.
You might imagine it as a soft golden light.
Warm,
Kind.
Study.
Not pushing or forcing the heart open.
Just offering warmth.
Let the heart be exactly as it is.
Open or guarded.
Fall,
Or tired.
Tender.
Or quiet.
Everything belongs.
From this heart space,
Silently ask.
What matters to me right now.
And then listen.
Not with pressure,
Not with urgency.
Just a willingness to hear.
What matters to me right now.
Maybe something comes clearly.
Maybe nothing comes at all.
Maybe a feeling arises.
All of it is welcome.
Take a breath into the heart.
And release.
Now bring your awareness to your throat.
The bridge between what you know inside and what you express outwardly.
Notice this space gently.
Your throat.
Neck,
Jaw,
Your mouth,
The tongue.
The back of the neck.
This is a place where so many truths get held.
Words unspoken.
Needs softened.
Desires swallowed.
No's turn into yes's.
Yes's stay hidden.
But there is no force here today.
You do not need to speak before you are ready.
You are simply creating space for the voice within you to feel welcome once again.
You Imagine a cool.
Clear stream of light moving through your throat center.
Like river water.
Clean.
Soft.
Unhurried.
Let it wash through any tightness.
Any hesitation.
Any old fear around being heard.
And silently say.
My voice is welcome here.
My truth.
Is welcome here.
I do not need to force it.
I can listen first.
Take a slow breath in through the throat.
And release.
Now bring your awareness to the space of the mind.
The forehead.
The temples.
The crown of the head.
Notice the movement of thought.
Maybe your mind is busy.
Maybe it is already trying to understand this practice.
Maybe it is making lists,
Remembering things,
Planning what comes next.
All of that is OK.
Your mind is not your enemy.
We are simply letting it soften its grip.
Now imagine your thoughts like leaves floating on the surface of a river.
One thought appears.
It floats by.
Another thought appears.
It too floats by.
You do not need to climb into the river after every thought.
You do not need to follow each one.
You can watch them pass.
Let thoughts move.
And let your awareness sink beneath the surface.
Beneath the noise.
Beneath the analysis.
Beneath the old stories.
Into the quieter current.
The inner river of truth.
Imagine yourself sitting beside a clear,
Beautiful river.
Perhaps it is in a summer meadow.
Perhaps there are wildflowers nearby.
Perhaps golden light touches the water.
Perhaps you hear the soft movement of the current.
This river is not outside of you.
It is within.
It is the current of your wisdom.
The flow of your inner knowing.
Part of you that remembers what is true.
Even when life is loud.
See yourself sitting at the edge of this river.
You do not need to enter it yet.
Just sit beside it.
Observing.
Listening.
Watching the way the water moves.
Notice how it does not rush to explain itself.
It simply flows.
Notice how it bends around the stones and roots and branches.
It does not stop being a river because something stands in its way.
It keeps finding its path.
Let this river remind you.
Your truth?
Has a current.
Your life.
Has a current.
Your voice.
Has a current.
Even if it has been blocked.
Even if it has been quiet.
Even if you have forgotten how to follow it.
It is still here.
Place one hand over your heart or simply bring your awareness there.
And gently ask.
What is true for me right now.
Let the question enter the river.
What is true for me right now?
You do not need a perfect answer.
You do not need a complete answer.
You may receive a word.
A sensation.
An image,
A knowing,
A feeling.
A simple yes.
A sacred note.
Or maybe your truth is simply.
.
.
I am tired.
I need space.
I miss myself.
I am ready.
I don't know yet.
I don't know yet.
Can be honest.
Let whatever arises be enough.
Now ask,
What have I been trying not to hear?
No judgment.
No pressure.
Just kindness.
What have I been trying not to hear?
Let yourself breathe.
Now ask,
What part of me is ready to be welcomed back?
What part of me is ready to be welcomed back?
Maybe it's your voice,
Your creativity,
Your softness,
Your strength,
Your desire.
Your playfulness,
Your boundaries,
Your clarity,
Your joy.
Let the answer come in whatever way it comes.
And if nothing comes,
Simply breathe.
The river is still flowing.
Now imagine dipping your hands into the river.
Feel the cool,
Clear water of your conscious awareness.
Bring that water gently to your heart.
As the blessing your own becoming.
Bring it to your throat.
Blessing your voice.
Bring the water to your forehead.
Blessing your clarity.
And bring it to your belly.
Blessing your instincts.
And let the river speak.
Not in words you have to understand.
But in feeling.
Let it say.
You can return.
You.
Can listen.
You can trust what you know You can move at the pace of truth.
Take a few quiet breaths right here.
Receiving.
Listening.
Softening.
Remembering.
Now silently repeat if it feels right.
I am safe to listen.
To what is true within me.
I am safe to listen.
To what is true within me.
I am safe to listen.
To what is true within me.
Feel those words move through your body.
Not as something to force yourself to believe.
But as an invitation.
Possibility.
A doorway.
Now let the image of the river flow.
Slowly soften.
Not disappearing completely.
Just settle into the background of your awareness,
Knowing you can return here anytime.
This river lives within you.
This truth lives within you.
This wisdom lives within you.
Begin to feel the support beneath your body again.
The ground.
The chair.
The match.
The room around you.
Notice your breath.
Your body.
Notice any small shift from when you began.
Maybe you feel clearer.
May be softer.
Maybe more emotional.
Maybe you feel the same.
All of it is welcome.
And bring a little movement into your fingers and your toes.
Maybe roll the shoulders or gently move the neck.
Take one.
Breath in.
Let it be full.
And let it out through the mouth.
Before you open your eyes,
Place one hand on your heart or throat.
And ask one final time.
What is one small truth I can honor today?
Let the answer be simple.
Let it be doable.
Let it be enough.
When you are ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Return to the space around you.
Carrying the inner river within you.
May you listen beneath the noise.
May you trust the quiet current within.
May you remember that you're truth.
Is not something you have to chase.
It is something.
You can return to.
Again.
And again.
Welcome back to yourself,
Dear sister.
All my love.
Namaste.
