Practice number two,
Observation.
Now that you have established your embodied seat,
We continue with the practice of observation.
Return to a stable,
Comfortable and sustainable posture.
Apply what you discovered in the previous practice.
Stability without rigidity,
Alertness without tension.
Let the body organize itself in a way that supports steady attention.
And once the body is organized,
Allow attention to settle into observation.
The intention of this practice is to observe your embodied mind in this moment.
So start by observing the contact points,
Feet,
Seat,
Hands,
Notice the breath without changing it,
Notice the body and its movements,
Notice sounds and their qualities,
Near or far,
Continuous or intermittent,
Notice thoughts as events arising and passing.
See what the mind is doing without interfering.
Do not try to fix,
Correct or modify the experience.
And allow what is present to be as it is.
Become the witness of body and mind as they are in this moment.
Rest in observing rather than identifying and allow curiosity and a steady and kind awareness.
Notice the simple fact of being alive in this body,
Emotion,
Thoughts,
Whatever happened in your experience.
Then when ready,
Slowly release the posture,
Reconnect with natural movements and the room.
Take a moment to reflect on what you discovered while observing your embodied mind and on the quality of awareness you cultivated.
