Kent Rautenstraus plays contemplative holiday music on the piano. All is calm. Christmas Eve 1818 in the Austrian village of Oberndorf all was not calm when the church organ would not play. The assistant pastor Joseph Möhr scribbled some lyrics and church organist Franz Grüber quickly penned the melody of Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht with a guitar accompaniment and the most beloved Christmas song of all time was born. Still, Still, Still, with its serene melody, beautifully sets up Silent Night.
