This is a little exercise called which wolf are you feeding and while I explain it just take a moment to sit,

Let gravity be a good friend for a little while and with each exhale allow yourself to let go of what you just came from and settle even more here.

So which wolf are you feeding?

Maybe you've heard this one before.

A Native American chief,

A grandfather,

Sits with his grandchildren,

A lot of children,

Around the fire.

It's evening and he shares some of his life wisdom.

So he tells them that inside of all of us there are two wolves living and they fight every day to win.

One wolf is cruel,

Suspicious,

Demanding,

Jealous,

Negative,

Frustrated and angry.

The other one is generous,

Calm,

Considerate,

Present,

Thoughtful and helpful.

And he explains to them quite matter-of-factly how they fight to win.

And the children are sitting there with big eyes and then one of the children asks him,

Grandfather,

Grandfather,

Which one of them wins?

And then he looks at them and then he says quietly,

The one you feed.

The wolf you feed is the one that wins.

And this little story can be transferred to the fact that each one of us has around 60,

000 thoughts every day.

We don't register all of them.

The vast majority of them just run in the subconscious while we are doing other things.

How else would you get through 60,

000 thoughts every day?

So that means that many of us are actually feeding the wrong wolf.

Just by our thoughts.

We are programmed to register everything that doesn't work,

Everything we should have done better,

Could have done better,

Never should have said,

Should have done more of,

Should have taken more care of.

So,

The more we can become aware of which wolf is being fed inside of us,

The easier it becomes to feed the other.

So if you discover,

Oh,

Right now I'm not in a particularly good mood,

You haven't changed anything,

You were doing something and you didn't alter anything,

But your mood has suddenly changed,

Then go back 10 seconds inside of you and ask yourself,

What was I actually thinking about 10 seconds ago?

And that was what colored your state of being.

So every time you discover that wolf inside of you,

Then you can choose to reset by taking a deep breath and say,

Okay,

Great,

Now I know,

Now I can move my attention to what I'm actually doing,

Or I can choose to think of something else that is more productive to me.

Then you have just fed the other wolf.

So which wolf are you feeding?

That's the one who wins.
