Hello and welcome to this special wind down to help you sleep easily no matter what you have happening tomorrow.
This wind down is exactly what you need to settle your mind and body the night before something big or important is happening in your life.
Maybe right now you feel some pressure to get good sleep.
So that you can wake up in the morning ready for whatever the day requires.
I'm Meredith Loudon,
And I am no stranger to trouble sleeping.
And so tonight I'm going to help put your mind at ease so you can get plenty of rest.
To me,
It really doesn't matter what it is tomorrow.
Maybe it's a job interview,
A presentation.
A difficult conversation,
A medical appointment.
A first date,
A performance.
Maybe you're traveling tomorrow.
Maybe it's a big milestone in your life.
Whatever it is.
Your nervous system is reading the amplified emotion behind it.
Which at first can make it a little tricky to relax into sleep.
But don't worry,
I've got you.
Trouble sleeping the night before something important is actually quite common.
And I always tell my clients.
True mastery isn't never having a restless night.
It's knowing how to come back into peace.
Even when your mind is racing or your body feels restless.
So let's help you settle into sleep tonight,
Knowing that tomorrow is going to be just fine,
No matter what.
Here's a truth that I want to share with you tonight.
One that lives inside of you,
Deep down,
Underneath all the noise.
You have already done everything that can possibly be prepared for tomorrow.
And if there is a voice inside your head right now insisting that you need to do more,
Prepare more,
Run through it one more time,
Or maybe even just a nervous energy lingering in your body that feels restless or unsure,
Know that this probably isn't your intuition.
This is more likely fear from the protective part of the brain.
The voice of your intuition is much quieter than that.
Steadier.
And it already knows that you are ready.
Whatever you needed to do to get ready for tomorrow,
You did it already.
You did your best in the time that you had available.
And now.
The working,
The preparing,
The needing to keep thinking about it is no longer necessary.
I know how tempting it can be to keep mentally rehearsing,
Running through what you're going to say,
How it's going to go,
What could go wrong,
What you should have prepared better.
I used to do this all of the time,
And I mean every night,
And I had insomnia for 16 years.
This was part of the problem.
Whenever I had something important the next day,
It was like a switch would flip in my brain and this nervous,
Anxious energy would take over.
My mind would go a mile a minute.
But.
The rehearsing,
The worrying.
The mental preparation at midnight.
It never made the next day go any better?
Than it would have.
If I had just forgotten all about it.
The nights I actually let go and trusted.
Those were the days.
That should be?
There was never anything to worry about in the first place.
So that's what we're going to do together tonight.
Not because tomorrow doesn't matter.
If it does,
That's completely OK.
But because the best thing that you can possibly do for tomorrow is to let it go just for tonight.
So,
What is in your control tonight?
This is where we tend to drive ourselves a little crazy,
Trying to control things.
That actually require the opposite.
A release of control.
We can't control tomorrow.
We can't control exactly how much sleep we get.
So there's really no value in placing our focus there.
But there is one thing that is absolutely completely in your control tonight.
And that thing is rest.
Resting your eyes.
Resting your mind.
Resting your body.
That's the whole job tonight.
So let's take a deep breath together.
And just invite this truth.
My only job tonight.
Is to rest.
My only job tonight is to rest.
And as that settles in.
.
.
Go ahead and take another deep breath.
And recognize the incredible power that you have right now.
I can rest my eyes.
I can rest my mind.
I can rest my body.
And that is enough.
Because no matter how much sleep you get,
Your body will get you through tomorrow.
It always has.
Even on the nights.
That you didn't sleep as much as you had hoped.
Even on the mornings?
You woke up sure that you couldn't possibly get through the day.
You always do.
Your body is resourceful in ways that your mind sometimes forgets.
It knows how to run on what it has.
It knows how to show up for you again and again,
No matter what kind of night came before it.
So tonight,
You don't have to monitor your sleep.
You don't have to count how many hours you're going to get.
You don't have to worry what tomorrow will feel like.
You just get to rest.
And tomorrow.
Your body will take it from there.
The same way it always has.
And here's something else that I want you to remember tonight.
You've done hard things before.
Think about that for a moment.
Every nerve-wracking moment,
Every big day that you weren't sure you were ready for,
You got through it.
Every single one.
You have a remarkable track record.
Of finding your way.
Through important days.
And tomorrow will be no different.
Not because you'll have it all figured out in advance.
But because you never have.
You've just shown up one moment at a time and trusted yourself to handle what came.
That is all tomorrow is asking of you.
The best version of you tomorrow.
Isn't the one who stayed up tonight mentally rehearsing every possible scenario?
It's the one who trusted enough to let tomorrow unfold.
Trusting that everything is going exactly as it's divinely meant to.
So let's practice this trust together right now.
First,
Just go ahead and take a big inhale in.
And just invite this idea in.
The preparation is done.
I have done everything I needed to do.
Rest is the best thing I can give myself right now.
And here's something that's even more powerful than all of that.
No amount of rehearsing tonight.
We'll let you control every moment tomorrow.
And the best part is,
You don't need to.
What you have and always have had.
Is something much more reliable than a perfect plan.
You have yourself.
Right in the moment when you need it.
Your inner guidance.
That is the beauty of staying present.
When you're here in the present moment.
Just like you are with me right now.
The answers you need have a way of showing up exactly when you need them.
That's your intuition.
Quiet.
Steady.
Always accessible within you.
You don't have to figure out tomorrow,
Tonight.
Because tomorrow you'll know what to say.
You'll know what to do,
One moment at a time.
So let's ground that in together.
I trust myself to meet tomorrow moment by moment.
I don't need to have it all figured out tonight.
My intuition will guide me whenever I need it.
And while we're here,
Trusting the quiet wisdom of your mind,
There's one more tool I want to give you tonight.
I want to share something with you that I consider one of the best kept secrets about the mind.
Your subconscious mind doesn't actually know the difference between what's real and what's not.
And what's imagined.
Which means tonight.
Instead of mentally rehearsing everything that could go wrong.
We get to do something far more powerful.
We get to give your subconscious mind new instructions.
We get to program it for how you'd actually like tomorrow to go.
So let's do that together.
Go ahead and close your eyes if they weren't closed already.
And just take a slow,
Deep breath.
And I want you to imagine tomorrow going really,
Really well.
Ignore all the details.
Just tap into that feeling.
What would it feel like to know?
That tomorrow went really,
Really well.
What would it feel like to be totally at ease tomorrow?
What would it feel like?
To walk through the entire day feeling calm.
Grounded.
Completely yourself.
What if tomorrow goes even better than you could have ever expected?
Feel how easy it all can be.
Maybe your shoulders soften.
Maybe your breathing gets a little deeper.
And slower.
Maybe you put a small smile on your face.
Just let yourself really feel that all is well.
Whatever that ease feels like in your body.
Just stay open to receiving it.
Because to your subconscious mind,
This feeling is just as real.
As if this already happened.
So now.
You can gently let all of it go.
You don't need to hold on to it.
Your subconscious mind has its instructions now.
It knows your intention.
The job is done.
Take a deep inhale now.
And as you do,
I invite you to place your attention on your heart center.
And just notice the rise and fall.
Of your chest.
Your heartbeat.
This body that is always working for you.
Always showing up for you.
Every single day.
And repeat after me.
Either in your mind or out loud.
I am ready.
I have everything I need within me.
Tonight,
I'm allowed to rest.
I am enough,
Exactly as I am.
I am supported no matter what.
Let those truths settle in.
Let your body get heavy.
Let your breath slow down.
Just let yourself drift off.
Into the quiet.
Into the stillness.
Into the soft,
Gentle truth.
That everything is okay.
Right here.
Right now.
Exactly as it is.
