Go ahead and take a few deep breaths in,

In through the nose,

And out through the mouth.

With every breath you feel more and more relaxed.

Again,

In through the nose,

Filling up your lungs all the way down to your belly,

And breathing it all out through your mouth.

And let's go ahead and take another nice deep breath in,

And gently close your eyes,

And go ahead and breathe it all out through the mouth.

As I take you on a journey,

You're going to be using your imagination.

Every sensation you've experienced is recorded forever.

You have the ability to relive those sensations as vividly as the first time they were experienced.

You are now going to take a sensory voyage.

You are going to construct a scene in your mind's eye so vivid,

It will be as if you were actually there.

You're walking along the beach.

It is the middle of June,

Pretty warm,

Five o'clock in the afternoon.

The sun is getting low,

And it is on the rising,

Although it has not begun to set.

The sky is brilliant blue,

The sun a blazing yellow.

Feel the heat from the sun against your face.

Feel the warmth of its rays against your skin.

You are barefoot.

Feel the hot,

Dry sand beneath your feet.

Walk closer to the water.

Feel the wet,

Cold,

Firmly packed sand beneath your feet.

Hear the beating of the waves,

The rhythmic crashing back and forth to and fro of the water against the sand.

Hear the loud high cries of the seagulls circling overhead.

You continue walking.

Suddenly,

You come across a sand dune,

A mound of white sand covered with deep pink moss roses,

Bright yellow buttercups.

You sit on that mound of sand.

You look out to the sea.

The sea is like a mirror of silver reflecting the sun's rays,

A mass of pure white light.

You are gazing fixedly into that light.

As you continue to stare at the sun's reflection of the water,

You begin to see dots of purple,

Darting flecks of violet.

There's a violet line along the horizon,

A purple halo all around the flowers,

Everywhere purple and silver.

Now,

The sun is beginning to set.

With each motion,

With each motion,

With each movement of the sun into the sea,

You go deeper and deeper,

More relaxed.

And when the sun has sunk into the ocean,

You'll be in a profound state of relaxation.

The sky is turning red,

Crimson,

Scarlet,

Gold,

Amber.

As the sun sets,

You are engulfed in a deep purple twilight,

A vividly blue haze.

You look up at the night sky.

It's clear,

Filled with stars,

A brilliant starry night,

The soft low roar of the waves,

The taste and smell of the salt,

The sea,

The sky,

And you.

And you feel yourself carried upward and outward into space,

One with the universe.

Now,

We are going to count to three.

When we reach the number three,

I want you to gently open your eyes.

You'll be completely relaxed,

Totally refreshed.

One,

Two,

Three.

Eyes open,

Wide awake.
