I'm Melissa.
Welcome.
This is a five-minute meditation to meet the morning gently.
Before the inbox,
Before the noise.
Before the world starts asking things of you.
Find a place to sit.
Or stay where you are.
Just somewhere your body can soften a little.
Let your eyes close or rest them low on the floor.
Take one slow breath in through your nose.
And a longer breath out through your mouth,
Almost like a sigh.
Let it be audible if it wants to be.
Again,
Breathe in slowly,
1,
2,
3,
4,
And out.
1.
.
.
2.
.
.
3.
.
.
4.
.
.
5.
.
.
6.
.
.
One more.
Breathe in fresh morning.
Breathe out anything left over from the night.
Now gently bring your attention to the top of your head.
And let it travel down slowly like warm water.
Forehead softening.
Jaw unclenching.
Shoulders dropping away from your ears.
Notice your chest.
Rising and falling on its own.
You don't have to do anything.
Your body already knows how to be alive this morning.
Feel your hands,
Your feet,
The weight of you held by the earth.
In this quiet,
Ask yourself one question.
How do I want to meet today?
Not what do I have to do.
Not what should I get done.
How do I want to meet it?
Maybe a word arrives.
Soft.
Brave.
Curious kind.
Study.
Open or maybe just a feeling,
Something underneath words.
Whatever comes,
Let it land.
You don't have to hold it tightly.
You're just planting it.
Like a small seed into the soil of your day.
Take one more deep breath in.
And out.
Know that whatever this day brings,
You can come back to this.
To the breath.
To the body.
To the version of you that woke up willing to try.
Start to feel your fingers,
Your toes.
Wiggle gently if you like.
Maybe a small smile,
Just for yourself.
When you're ready.
Open your eyes.
The day is here,
And so are you.
Go softly.
