This is a guided visualisation suitable for young children. Listen as you drift off into a dreamy peaceful sleep. Can be listened to with headphones or through a speaker. The music plays for a while after the spoken words finish to allow time to settle more deeply.

Welcome to your bedtime relaxation.

I have written this relaxation for you to enjoy as you snuggle into bed.

So now make sure that you have cleaned your teeth before you climb into bed and snuggle down.

Know that you can move around at any time you need to to get yourself even more comfortable.

Be aware of how your body feels as it sinks into the soft bed beneath you.

Body is supported from head to toe so that you can fully relax.

It may feel like you are snuggling into a soft fluffy cloud.

As you begin to relax gently close your eyes.

Closing your eyes you are telling your whole body that you are ready to relax.

Now think about your breathing.

Notice your breathing for a moment and then begin to breathe slower.

Breathe in through your nose out through your mouth.

As you breathe in fill your tummy with that breath and notice how it goes up.

Then as you breathe out your tummy will go down again.

Imagine for a moment that there is a small candle just in front of your face and as you breathe out through your mouth you blow so gently that the flame on the candle moves but it doesn't actually blow the candle out.

So breathing in through your nose and your tummy rising.

Breathing out so that your tummy falls again.

Let's see if you can take that breath in to a count of three and out for a count of five.

Breathing in through the nose two three out through the mouth two three four five in two three out two three four five.

Remember to blow so gently out that the candle flame just flickers.

That's brilliant.

Relaxing more and more into your comfortable bed.

Your body melting and softening more and more.

Notice how your face feels.

As you breathe in screw your face up tightly and then as you breathe out relax every part of your face so that it's wobbly and soft like a jelly.

Now that soft and wobbly feeling to spread from your face down your neck.

Softening and relaxing all of the muscles in your back and in your tummy.

Keep that wonderful slow breathing going and each time you breathe out your body softens and relaxes more and more.

The wobbly soft relaxation spreads all the way down each leg and foot until you are soft and wobbly from the top of your head all the way down to the tips of your toes.

Your whole body is so relaxed.

You feel safe.

You feel protected and peaceful.

You can feel your entire body relax and sink deeper into the surface beneath you.

Your whole body is so relaxed.

You feel safe,

Protected and peaceful.

I'd like you now to begin to imagine a beautiful lush green meadow.

As you start to look around your meadow you will begin to notice the details of everything around you.

First you are aware that the grass beneath your feet is the softest greenest grass you have ever seen.

You may choose to take your shoes and socks off and walk barefoot on the lush grass.

Feeling the blanket of silky soft green between your toes.

As you look around you notice how the meadow in front of you runs up to a beautiful stream of crystal clear waters that are glistening in the sunlight.

The other side of the stream the meadow runs towards rolling mountains in the distance.

It's the most beautiful stream that you have ever seen and flowers of rich colors run along the side of the stream and into the meadow beyond.

Notice the color of the flowers.

Are they yellow or petal,

Blue,

Pink,

Golden?

Whatever color your flowers are just notice how beautiful they are.

You may even notice the smell coming from the flowers.

It is warm and fresh and your body tingles as you breathe deeply.

A large tree blows gently in the warm breeze and their branches gently lap in the water of the stream.

The sky is a clear blue and it feels amazing as the sunlight soaks into your skin.

You are filled with joy as you see everything around you as you continue to walk towards the stream you notice in the shade of the large tree some extra large squishy cushions on the soft ground.

They look so comfortable that you decide to go and sit on them.

As you sit down you notice how they support your whole body fully and you totally relax into the warm squishy cushions.

Now you are the most relaxed you have ever been.

Sit quietly and allow the sounds around you to wash over you.

The stream flowing gently around the rocks that lay in its path.

The birds singing a wonderful bird song.

Warm breeze gently blowing through the leaves of the trees.

Sit here now and enjoy how happy and calm you feel.

How relaxed you feel.

How safe and protected you feel and enjoy this magical place that you have created.

This is your special place and you can visit here anytime you choose.

As you relax in your special place continue to enjoy all of these wonderful feelings as you drift off into a wonderful peaceful sleep.
