Hello,
Dear one,
And welcome to Samhain.
We are now entering the dark half of the year.
In the old days,
And still in some places of the world,
There were only two seasons,
The summer and the winter.
The year began at the start of the dark half,
Or the winter,
Which is now at the time of Samhain,
And the light half,
Or the summer,
Begins at Beltane,
Around May 1st.
Samhain is the third and last harvest festival of the wheel of the year,
And the time where the livestock come back from their summer pastures into the winter stables,
And the last of the crops are gathered and everyone is preserving and preparing for the winter time to come.
This transition space between the light half of the year and the dark means the other world,
The land of spirit,
Of the ancestors,
Of universal divine energy,
Is closer and more palpable.
The veil is thin between these worlds.
This makes Samhain a great time to connect with your ancestors and spirit guides,
As well as doing divination work.
So I invite you to enter through the veil with your tarot or oracle deck and a journal to explore what is coming through in this season for you.
As we go through this spread,
I invite you to intuitively connect with your cards without the guidebook,
If you are able.
Look at the colors,
The symbols,
The textures,
How the story unfolds in the cards,
How does the card make you feel when you pull it,
And any of the archetypal energies that you know.
