So,
It's the end of the week,
Thank god right?
But what we do carry into our weekend off is usually some residual anxiety,
Exhaustion,
Maybe we are even still a bit wound up,
And the body's probably had enough as well,
And that's totally okay.
For now though,
Letting go of the week just passed,
And also letting go of any expectations you have for the weekend ahead,
And just take a moment to get nice and comfortable,
Just setting yourself up with your eyes open,
And a nice soft focus just ahead of you.
And when you're ready,
Just taking a big deep breath in through the nose,
And out through the mouth,
And gently closing the eyes.
I invite you now to gently guide your attention to the top of your head,
And just imagine a steady flow of warm liquid sunlight flowing down into the top of your head,
And it flows all the way down into your feet,
Like it's filling you up like a tall glass vase,
Just melting away any tension or discomfort as it passes through.
Just follow the stream as it fills up your feet,
Your ankles,
Moving up through your calves,
Melting away any tension.
Focus on the warmth,
The calmness,
As it continues to move into your hips,
Filling up your belly.
Just bring in a sense of lightness,
Of ease,
As it moves into the chest,
Everything softening,
That sense of warmth as it travels up into the shoulders,
And down into the arms,
Into the hands,
Filling up one finger at a time,
The body increasingly feeling at ease,
Dissolving away any tension in your arms.
That warm liquid sunlight now filling your neck and your throat,
All the way up into the face,
Relaxing all the muscles across your forehead.
And as the flow of warm liquid sunlight reaches the top of your head,
Just allow the mind to rest in that space of relaxation and warmth.
And now,
Just letting go of that image,
But allowing the feeling to remain.
Just bringing the attention back into the body,
Back into the space around you,
Noticing the sounds,
And when you're ready,
Just gently opening your eyes.
And before you move on into your weekend,
Just notice how it feels now to not be in the past or the future,
But in the present with your body.
And also congratulate yourself on taking some time for your body and mind.
