Hello,
Friend.
This is Martha Golden.
This is for my niece and anyone who would like to listen to a bedtime story.
Hansel and Gretel.
Once upon a time in a small village,
There lived a poor woodcutter,
His wife and their two children,
Hansel and Gretel.
Hansel and Gretel lived in a humble home near a dark forest.
Their mother had passed away and their father remarried.
The woman he married was cruel and unkind.
Hansel and Gretel's stepmother often complained about the children and wanted to get rid of them because there was not enough food to feed the family.
One night,
She convinced their father to abandon Hansel and Gretel in the forest,
Hoping they would not find their way back home.
Hansel,
Overhearing the wicked plan,
Gathered small,
White pebbles and filled his pockets with them.
The next day,
As they walked deeper into the forest,
Hansel dropped the petals along the path.
When night fell,
The moonlight shone on the pebbles,
Guiding them back home safely.
Their father was overjoyed to see them,
But their stepmother was furious.
The next day,
The stepmother took them even deeper into the woods.
This time,
Hansel left a trail of breadcrumbs.
However,
When they tried to follow the crumbs back,
They discovered that birds had eaten them all.
Lost and scared,
Hansel and Gretel wandered through the forest until they stumbled upon a magical gingerbread house covered in sweets and treats.
As they began to eat the delicious candy,
A wicked witch appeared.
She captured them and planned to fatten them up to eat them.
But Hansel and Gretel were clever.
They devised a plan to outsmart the witch.
While she was busy preparing her meal,
They managed to push her into the oven and escape.
After their escape,
Hansel and Gretel found their way back home,
Guided by the pebbles Hansel had dropped.
They reunited with their father,
Who was overjoyed to see them safe.
The wicked stepmother was gone,
And the family lived happily ever after,
Never to go hungry again.
The moral of this story teaches us about bravery,
Cleverness,
And the importance of family.
This classic tale shows us that even in the darkest times,
Love and resourcefulness can lead to a happy ending.
May peace be with you.
