Hi and welcome to your practice.
This meditation is an offering for all lovers of cacao medicine and I invite you to prepare your favorite cup right before you sit down to do this meditation.
I offer it with gratitude to my Central and South American teachers honoring their courage and strength and wisdom and preserving these ancestral ancient shamanic plum medicine traditions.
Cacao is an ancient plum medicine of Mesoamerica and shamanically it is seen as a medicine that really opens our heart,
That facilitates a deeper connection to ourselves and the world.
So today we will honor this plant,
Our hearts and the beautiful connection we have with each other.
Once you have your cup ready,
Find a comfortable seat and if your cup isn't too hot,
Hold it to your heart.
Breathing in the aroma,
The smell that might be coming to you as we awaken to intimacy with the whole of reality.
Awakeness in Tantra is a radical intimacy with everything that arises,
Which also means true embodiment,
True acceptance with all of ourselves.
So begin to invite your awareness to explore the subtle places and planes of your being.
With your eyes softly closed,
With the cup either held to your heart or comfortably placed next to you,
Dive into your inner world.
Sense the existence of the magnetic field that exists in the invisible spaces within you.
A magnetic field of each human being spreads and extends in a one meter radius around them,
You included.
Can you feel the force of your heart?
And as you breathe in softly,
Can you connect to your heart and gently inquire within,
Is there coherence between your heart and your brain?
Coherence is a state of harmony where all facets of our being work together in the most optimal,
Harmonious way.
Are you an embodiment of that?
Or is there anything that needs tending to,
Looking at,
Bringing into the heart?
Letting the invisible become illuminated.
What is there?
And what does it hold?
As you feel your heart,
Simply knowing that your heart's magnetic field is the strongest rhythmic field produced by the human body.
So it not only envelops every cell of your body,
But it extends out in all directions into the space.
So in this journey of self-discovery,
Of dwelling in your heart,
Can you check in with yourself?
What is it that you're sending out three feet,
One meter,
All around you into the space?
In the wombs of our mothers,
Our heart beats before our brain forms.
And after the brain dies,
The heart will continue to beat as long as it has access to oxygen.
Our hearts have the ability to process,
Learn,
And remember.
Can we be curious for the next few breaths about the entire universe buried,
Not only in our human experience,
But also in our human heart?
Emotions like love or compassion generate a harmonious pattern in our heart's rhythm.
A pattern that leads to coherence and regulation.
So if your cacao cup isn't at the heart,
Find it and bring it to you.
Take in the aroma,
Welcoming this wonderful plant medicine into your field.
And then taking a tiny sip,
Allowing for the flavor to open in your palate,
Knowing that with your next sip,
You will intentionally evoke love in your heart.
Inviting cacao to show you how.
The following conscious sip evoking connection to yourself,
To your relatives,
Your friends,
Your community,
To strangers on the streets,
To all living beings.
Inviting cacao to show you how.
And with a third intentional sip,
Evoking compassion for all living beings.
Starting with yourself,
Strongly following by and with everyone you don't agree with.
Everyone you have had a resentment towards.
Everyone who broke your heart.
All the suffering,
All the pain.
Asking cacao to show you how.
How to embody compassion for all.
Inviting your heart space to pulsate with love,
Connection,
Compassion.
Feeling that possibility of coherence as your frequency.
A true state of harmony between your brain and your heart.
Informing the way you live,
The way you speak and think.
Letting your heart become illuminated.
Sipping the cacao at your own pace,
Feel free to stay here as long as you desire.
This truly can be a deep meditative practice.
Communing with the plant in a container of true presence.
Giving yourself a permission to be fully seen and witnessed by the medicine of cacao.
Take a soft inhale through the nose,
Exhale through the mouth.
Check in with yourself right now,
I feel.
And find a permission to marinate in whatever arises.
Thank you for sharing your practice with me.
With gratitude to all of our teachers,
Past and present,
Human and plant,
For helping us see and helping us remember.
Namaste.
