Of course, we care what other people think, especially people important to us. And sometimes, opinions from folks who aren't really being careful or thoughtful can hit us hard. Find relief and nourishment when you're upset or overwhelmed by other people's opinions.

Hello,

This is Mark Silver with Heart of Business and I want to welcome you to our Monday Remembrance.

I want to encourage you to just go ahead and take a nice gentle breath.

Get comfortable where you are.

Just noticing how much spaciousness there is.

Space for exactly how you're feeling.

Space for your heart and also space for the Divine.

Bringing your attention to your heart,

High up in your chest,

Beginning to call the name of the Divine through the open door of your heart.

Hmm.

Hmm.

And just continue to call the name of the Divine through your heart and then in the space after listening.

Listening for what's there.

And asking again.

Hmm.

Hmm.

Hmm.

And noticing if there's any place in your heart that feels impacted by other people's opinions.

It's one of the things that can often turn our head and affect us in very profound ways.

And it's very important to hear what other people say and to receive their input with grace and with an open heart.

It's equally important not to give power to them,

To treat them as if they were God speaking to you.

Just noticing if your heart is sitting with anyone's opinion that has been shared with you.

Hmm.

Hmm.

So what I want is to invite you to let your heart turn completely towards the Divine.

Letting yourself feel however other people's opinions have impacted you.

Just letting your heart turn completely towards the Divine.

Turning away from the world,

Turning away from others.

Not abandoning them,

Knowing that you will bring your attention back.

But for right now,

Letting your heart shift.

In Arabic,

The word for heart is kalb.

Kalb means to turn.

So the heart turns.

And it's full of whatever it faces.

So when your heart faces other people's opinions,

It fills with those.

And while they can be useful,

If you've forgotten your connection with the Divine,

They can easily overwhelm you and send you into doubt.

Let your heart turn towards the One,

Towards the source of love,

Towards all that is.

Hmm.

Hmm.

Just letting your heart fill up.

Be filled up while facing the Divine.

Oh.

Hmm.

Hmm.

Hmm.

Hmm.

Hmm.

Hmm.

Hmm.

Um.

And then,

Just noticing as your heart is filled,

Knowing that any opinions that you have received are in there also,

Even as you're full.

Letting yourself see,

Feel,

Be aware of,

Perceive the opinion that perhaps is bothering you.

In this context of being held and filled with love and facing source.

Notice what happens.

Notice what happens for your heart.

Notice what's available to you from the opinion.

Hmm.

Hmm.

Oh.

Hmm.

Just soaking in the appreciation of the Divine and your heart's connection and the appreciation of the opinion and the gift that's been given to you from that,

Without being consumed by it or overwhelmed by it.

Noticing how your heart feels.

And then asking,

Seeing if you have any authentic appreciation or gratitude for anything you might have experienced in this remembrance and letting yourself express that to the Divine.

Hmm.

And then allowing your heart to stay with the remembrance,

Even as you bring your attention back to the world.

And of course,

You can stay in a deeper remembrance if you like,

And know that the remembrance is available in every moment.

And I wish you blessings and peace on your journey.
