Relax and marvel at this imaginative old Russian folk story, collected by Arthur Ransome during his years in pre-revolutionary Russia and published by him in 1916. The story uses stereotypes - the ugly sisters, and the cruel stepmother - similar to those we find in Cinderella. It is told in a completely different way, however!
