This was such fun. It gives an intimate view into Victorian life, and the complexities of its social mores; some of which were down right confusing to this 20C born reader. I loved Eliz Gaskell’s subtle sense of humor.

Cranford is the perfect read to put oneself to sleep. The language used and the topics of each chapter are such that it lulls a person. I surely will give this book another listen. Thank you Mandy, for your excellent reading.
