Black Madonna (Ave Mater)

This offering is a reimagining of the Hail Mary prayer, honouring Her in her aspect as the ‘Cosmic Birther’ - the womb which births all creation. She goes by many names - the Cailleach, Hecate, Cerridwen, Kali Ma, Inanna, Ishtar, Lilith, Sara la Kali, the Black Madonna. Across cultures and centuries, her face changes. Yet her essence remains: the holy feminine in her untamed form. The destroyer of illusion. The protector of the rejected. The one who teaches us how to descend and return transformed.
