Transcript

Hello and welcome.

My name is Lee.

This meditation will lead you on a journey towards releasing any tight,

Controlling grip you may have on life.

And allow yourself permission just to trust in the flow of life.

So please let yourself settle into a comfortable position,

Either sitting or laying back.

With a long and straight spine and your arms and legs can just rest wherever they fall.

Please begin with your eyes open.

Notice how much information they are taking in.

The colours,

The shapes,

The formations and different movements of everything around the room or the space that you're in.

Just notice how they're scanning the room around you and looking for all sorts of information to feed back to your mind.

Now gently just soften your gaze.

Maybe let it blur a little as you close your eyes.

Just inviting that intention of trust.

Notice the transition of your awareness as you allow your eyes to rest and close.

And as you take another deep breath in,

Perhaps just open your eyes.

Just slowly noticing the difference.

And then gently closing your eyes.

Just realising the change in all that excess information that the awareness now doesn't need to take in because your eyes are closed.

And now let your awareness notice that you are breathing.

Feel into the subtle movements.

The body maybe the chest expanding.

Maybe you feel the breath flowing in your nostrils or through your throat.

Just notice where you can feel the breath travelling as your body breathes.

This is one way to access the body through our breathing.

And it might help you to feel connected and help you stay present to the sensations that you notice as the breath travels in,

Flows through and then releases out.

The breath is a fabulous and familiar tool.

We also have our bodies with us here in the present moment.

We know our mind can be anywhere.

It's distracted and lost in thinking about the past.

It's imagining and worrying or planning about the future.

But your body and your breath,

They're always here with you in this present moment.

And that's why it just benefits meditation so easily.

Focusing the attention on the sensations of the breath and perhaps then leading to focusing attention to the sensations in the body.

And as you become aware of any sensations or movements of energy within your body,

Please remain kind and with an open attitude to all possibilities.

Allow yourself to reconnect with your body honestly and feel into your aliveness as you observe any sensations merely for what they are without any need to react to them.

Don't need to judge them or wish they were any different.

Just notice them for as they are.

This true observation is an art form and one that requires time,

Commitment and understanding.

As you breathe slowly and deeply,

Tenderly,

Please continue to relax.

Really feel rested into the surface that's supporting you,

The bed,

The floor or the chair.

Just rest into it.

And as you rest now in this space of awareness and stillness,

Begin to imagine a city street.

This city street is quite busy.

It's full of shops and businesses and you can see crowds of people hurrying from one place to another and there's cars and buses that line the roads.

They're all crawling through bumper to bumper city afternoon traffic.

Just up ahead you see a narrow doorway.

It's in between two buildings and it's caught your attention.

It's a small opening and you immediately recognize it as a cozy nook away from the hustle and bustle of the world around you.

So you slip easily through the crowds of people and you head towards the doorway.

As you move inside the narrow dimly lit entrance,

It instantly feels warm and invites you as it shelters you away from the outside world.

And then just inside the entrance you arrive at the top of a flight of stairs.

And you begin to make your way down these stairs and as you do the sound of the city begins to fade away from behind you.

Each step you take you can feel yourself moving away from the noise of the world and down into a place of quiet,

A place of solitude and well-being.

Just gradually take your time descending these steps as you sink deeper and deeper into a state of peaceful relaxation.

One Two Three Four Five Six Seven Eight Nine Ten You've reached the bottom of the staircase.

You are calm and deeply at ease.

In this new quiet environment you can barely hear the sound of the street above you.

It seems so far away.

And in front of you is a tall wooden door.

There is no handle or lever to open it.

You just study the door a little closer and then you notice the word trust has been carved into the surface.

So you can just contemplate this word trust and what it means to you.

Feel into the essence of it.

And slowly notice a feeling of softening within your own self.

You can release any expectations,

Any control.

You can let go of anything that you may have or you continue to hold on to.

Just feel gently this surrender of your own self.

And the door in front of you unlocks.

The old hinges creak open to reveal a small round room.

This room is a library.

It's filled with bookshelves and it has a tall dome ceiling.

As you're inside you slowly,

Quietly close the door behind you.

And this room is a private place.

It is secluded and safe and it welcomes you.

It has no windows,

It has no other doors and it's very,

Very quiet.

You feel a sense of contentment wash over you and around you as you settle into this inviting place.

Then you notice in the center of the room there sits a small wooden desk.

On the desk lies a large old dust-covered book.

You pick up the book and you feel the weight of it within your hands.

You feel a sense of wonder and curiosity as you hold this grand old book.

And then it occurs to you that it has rested in this place a very long time,

Waiting for you.

Since long before you were even born.

You open the cover and you notice that every single page within this book is blank.

There's no words,

There's no pictures.

It's empty.

This is a book of freedom.

It has the power to free you of anything in your life that might be worrying you or bothering you.

Anything that you're concerned about with your next chapter.

Anything that might be coming up for you in the near future.

So it's a time for you to write within this book.

Take some time to think about anything that's not sitting comfortably with you at this moment.

Bring to mind any situation in the days ahead that may be consuming you and that may be disturbing you with unnecessary worry.

Anything you're holding onto.

Any self doubts about your ability to move forward into this next part of your journey.

And see yourself now writing this down in the book.

See yourself writing anything and everything that you feel that is holding you back.

Anything burdening you.

So there's no right or wrong way to do this.

You can feel it or you can imagine your thoughts,

Your feelings being imprinted into this book.

And just continue to clear your mind as the words write themselves onto the pages of this book of freedom.

Please release your worries and your tight handle on life and the future.

You can allow any images to form within your mind and any feelings to flow from within your body.

Any,

All the worries,

Let them flow and imprint onto the pages of this book.

And you sense that the pages are filling up.

One by one they're filling up with all your concerns.

This book absorbs them all.

And as the pages fill with words and pictures you begin to feel lighter and more positive.

It's like you have been heard,

You have been understood.

So you feel reassured,

You feel relieved.

And you continue to fill the pages.

And then when you are ready you can close the book.

And so here you are in this library.

And the book of freedom is now closed in front of you.

It has absorbed all your worldly concerns and you feel a new sense of lightness.

You feel a new freedom to accept the process.

And a new calmness in the knowledge that all your needs will be taken care of.

Just notice what this feels like as an embodied experience and not just an intellectual idea.

Trust that you have been heard and understood.

And trust that you will continue to rise above all challenges to a place of serenity and wisdom.

And in the quietness of this library.

You look up to the domed ceiling.

And you hear it slowly creak and crack as the domed roof above you begins to open.

Slowly and surely the roof opens completely revealing a clear blue sky above.

And you just hear for a moment looking up and your arms are dangling alongside your body.

And you're just observing the picture perfect blue sky above you.

You gently begin to raise your arms and hands and as you do your body begins to lift up.

Your body begins to float and your feet raise up and off the floor below you.

A wave of exhilaration streams through you as you realize that you have the freedom to fly anywhere that you choose.

As you raise your hands you float higher and higher and as you lower your arms and hands you gently descend.

There's an effortless ease about you as you begin to float towards the open roof and you glide up and out of the room slowly into the sky.

Feel the wondrous sense of freedom as you fly higher and higher into the sky.

And when you look down you can see the entire city below you.

It gradually becomes smaller and smaller.

You just leave the world behind you and you just float up and up gliding into the skies.

Up and up you fly passing beyond the clouds feeling even more joyful,

Freer with every passing breath,

Passing moment.

Continue just traveling,

Floating upwards and you decide to fly right out into the cosmos,

Into space.

Just leaving all your concerns and all your thoughts far,

Far behind you.

Your arms are raised and you ascend higher and higher,

Traveling beyond the atmosphere and out into space.

For a moment it takes some time to turn around and look back to the earth.

It's a small blue sphere floating in vast emptiness.

So just simply drift effortlessly throughout space.

Just allow your whole self to admire the beauty of the stars,

Of the planets,

All that is around you.

Feel yourself as weightless.

Feel yourself as content.

Feel yourself at peace.

This floating sensation is profoundly relaxing.

And with each passing moment you slip even deeper and deeper into a space of stillness,

Silence and inner peace.

You are a million miles from anything or anyone and yet at the same time you feel completely connected to the entire universe.

You're feeling vast,

Weightless and timeless.

And deep within this silent space inside of you there's a voice.

This is your own inner voice.

It's loving words echo in your mind.

I am letting go of my past.

I am worthy of self-forgiveness.

I am worthy of self-love.

I am free to experience this life in any way that I choose.

Like the universe itself,

I am eternal.

I am limitless.

I am free from all concerns about the past.

I am free from all concerns about the future.

My life is in perfect order and it is unfolding according to a perfect plan.

I do not need to strive to attain the things that I desire because I know that in resisting less I will allow them to easily ascend towards me.

I trust the process.

I release my grip of life.

I am calm in the knowledge that all of my needs are taken care of.

I am open to all of life's experiences.

And as the moments of my life come and go,

I remain at peace.

And if a problem arises,

I do not resist it.

I observe every situation with a calm,

Open mind for I trust that it will resolve itself in time.

I have all the time in the world.

In the quiet spaces between my thoughts,

Inspiration comes to me.

It all becomes clear and my life transforms in magical and unexpected ways.

Remind yourself of an obstacle in your life that at one time felt completely unmanageable.

It was a long time ago and it seemed impossible to go through.

And yet now in stillness and in silence,

It's so peaceful.

Recognize that you have and that you will continue to rise effortlessly above all the challenges to a place of serenity,

To a place of wisdom and knowing.

And your path going forward will become clearer and clearer.

And in every way,

Your life will become more and more harmonious.

Trust in the flow of life.

Resist nothing,

Yearn for nothing and gratefully receive all that comes your way.

And so now it's time to return home,

To return to your beautiful life that is unfolding outside of this space.

Take one last look around you at the infinite,

Glorious expanse of space and know that you can return here at any time,

Whenever you choose.

Any time that you seek clarity,

Any time that you wish to free yourself from your worldly life,

Simply raise your arms to the world,

Close your eyes and imagine floating upwards.

You can.

And you will be instantly transported to this beautiful place of peace and tranquility.

And so you gently lower your arms,

Your hands,

And slowly you begin to transport back down to Earth.

Gradually the Earth grows larger and larger before your very eyes.

You pass into the upper atmosphere and through the wisps of clouds as you graciously guide yourself back down towards the city,

The same one from where you started.

The open roof of the library comes into view and you steer yourself towards it.

Slowly and gently you float back down into the library.

You feel yourself come to rest on the solid floor.

The domed roof above you,

It begins to slowly close.

You look up and watch as the opening narrows and then completely closes above your head.

You feel relaxed,

Recharged,

And you feel refreshed and you feel lighter and so much stronger than when you first arrived here.

The large old book still rests on the desk where you left it.

You pick it up and open it as you flip,

You notice that all of the pages are once again completely empty,

Blank pages.

During your journey into space,

This book has been cleansed and only pure white paper remains.

And so you close the book,

Let it down on the table and make your way back towards the door.

The door swings open for you and you step outside of the library.

And here are the ten steps that lead you back up towards the city.

So make your way up these steps and feel yourself becoming more alert and more refreshed.

Ten,

Nine,

Slowly,

Eight,

Seven,

Six.

Becoming more and more alert.

Five,

Four,

Three.

You are nearly back now.

Two,

One.

You find yourself standing in the open doorway and you're looking out into a quiet city street.

It's the same street.

You are feeling calm,

Clear,

And at peace with the world.

You notice that all the traffic has departed,

That all the pedestrians have disappeared.

And you move out of the doorway and then you see that every one of the streets around you is quiet and empty.

And you can stroll freely and confidently to any place that you choose.

You feel happy.

You feel whole.

You feel free.

And you are ready to return to a full waking state.

You can take this sense of newfound freedom and trust with you into the next chapter of your life.

Just slowly begin to bring your awareness back into your body.

And with your eyes still lightly closed,

Just deepen your breath slowly,

Steady.

Just let a few smooth breaths in,

Softly out.

Just feel the breath nourishing all through your body,

The fresh,

Clean air,

Beautiful deep breaths.

And now allowing your focus to drift from the breath to your sense of hearing.

And without seeking any sounds,

Just notice whatever's available.

Any sounds from inside the room or outside maybe.

Just slowly inviting in some slight movements.

Maybe some blinking of the eyes,

Wriggling of the nose.

Just any movements that feel natural and nurturing for yourself as you transition back.

And as you feel ready,

With your eyes open,

You can acknowledge and appreciate this world around you.
